Declaring Crown Lands in the Otago Mining District, Southland Land District, open for Disposal on Renewable Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and fifty-four of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General, by Proclamation, may from time to time declare any Crown lands within any mining district not held under lease or license, or for which a lease or license has been cancelled, to be open for disposal as provided in section one hundred and fifty-three of the said Act :

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authority conferred upon me by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open on Tuesday, the fifteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, for disposal on renewable lease, as provided in section one hundred and fifty-three of the said Act; and I do also declare that, for the purposes of section one hundred and thirty-three of the said Act, the lands described in the said Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be “heavy bush land.”

And I do hereby provide that, after the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector, the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board thinks fit.

(Exempt from Rent for Four Years.)

Wallace County.—Jacobs River Hundred.—Otago Mining District.

Section 37, Block XIX : Area, 315 acres 3 roods 6 perches. Capital value, £555. Half-yearly rent, £11 2s.

Section 38, Block XIX : Area, 253 acres 0 roods 29 perches. Capital value, £445. Half-yearly rent, £8 18s.

Section 39, Block XIX : Area, 299 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £525. Half-yearly rent, £10 10s.

Section 43, Block XIX : Area, 229 acres 1 rood 18 perches. Capital value, £345. Half-yearly rent, £6 18s.

Section 44, Block XIX : Area, 259 acres 3 roods 10 perches. Capital value, £390. Half-yearly rent, £7 16s.

Section 45, Block XIX : Area, 207 acres 3 roods 2 perches. Capital value, £365. Half-yearly rent, £7 6s.

Section 49, Block XIX : Area, 150 acres 0 roods 26 perches. Capital value, £225. Half-yearly rent, £4 10s.

Section 50, Block XIX : Area, 189 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £285. Half-yearly rent, £5 14s.

The sections are situated on the west side of the Pourakino River from seven to ten miles from Riverton by formed and metalled road—about seven miles metalled, balance new formation; from three to five miles from Waipango Post-office and school, and four miles and a half to six miles and a half from Aparima Dairy Factory.

The land is undulating to hilly bush country. All milling-timber has been removed. When cleared and grassed will be suitable for dairying and mixed farming. Altitude varies up to 600 ft.

Special Condition.—After payment of first half-year’s rent has been made no further rent will be payable for a period of four years.

Tramway Rights.—Tramway rights are reserved through Sections 37, 38, and 39 until such time as the Land Board cancels same.

Crown Land set apart for Disposal by way of Sale or Lease to Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section four of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.

Sections 39 and 40, Karamu Parish : Area, 104 acres 3 roods 26 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 26th day of November, 1928.

Declaring Town Lands to be subject to the Provisions of Section 10 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1927.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section ten of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1927, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the lands described in the Schedule hereto, being lands classified as town lands and being available for disposal by way of sale under section one hundred and thirty of the Land Act, 1924, to be subject to the provisions of the said section ten.
