No. 2 Loan: For the purpose of reforming and metalling Maunu Road on the penetration system from Otaika Corner to the borough boundary with two footpaths to the hospital, and one footpath to the borough boundary, £5,900: For the proposal, 248; against the proposal, 194; informal, 20.
No. 3 Loan: For the purpose of filling in, levelling, and laying out Central Park, £1,724: For the proposal, 187; against the proposal, 253; informal, 22.
No. 4 Loan: For the purpose of extending the municipal buildings to provide more room for the Municipal Library, £1,300: For the proposal, 210; against the proposal, 225; informal, 27.
I therefore declare that proposals numbers 1 and 2 were carried, and that proposals numbers 3 and 4 were rejected.

TAURANGA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
Proposal to raise Loans of £20,000 and £5,000.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give public notice that at the poll of ratepayers of the Tauranga Electric-power District, taken on the 13th day of October, 1928, on the proposal of the Tauranga Electric-power Board to raise loans of £20,000 for electric works and £5,000 for financing consumers, the number of votes cast was as follows:—
£20,000 Loan: For the proposal, 160; against the proposal, 192; informal, 9.
£5,000 Loan: For the proposal, 163; against the proposal, 189; informal, 9.
As the number of votes cast for the proposals was in each case less than three-fifths of the valid votes cast at the poll in each case, I therefore declare the proposals were each rejected.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Newmarket, taken on the 18th day of October, 1928, on the proposal of the Newmarket Borough Council to borrow the sum of £800 for the permanent construction and improvement of Mortimer Pass, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 533; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 143; informal, 41.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

(a) To meet proportion of cost of constructing branch sewer No. 3c, payable to Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board .. .. 4,150
(b) The provision of subsidiary stormwater sewers and the necessary branches thereto .. 6,750
(c) Engineering and contingencies .. .. 600

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 574; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 104; informal, 38.

(a) Altering tram tracks in Broadway (proportion of cost chargeable to borough):
(b) The paving in concrete of the portion of the roadway from which the tram tracks are to be removed.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 456; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 236; informal, 25.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Wiri Drainage District.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1913, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Wiri Drainage District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed inclusion which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
PROPOSED AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN THE WIRI DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the North Island Main Trunk Railway and the northern boundary of the Manurewa Town District; thence by the said North Island Main Trunk Railway to a point at the north-eastern extremity of the Wiri Railway-station Reserve; thence across the said railway to a point at the north-western extremity of the said Wiri Railway-station Reserve; thence by a right line across Lot 1 of a subdivision of part of Clendon’s Grant on plan 9075, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to an angle in the eastern side of Roscommon Road, approximately 2300 links south of the crossing of that road by the Puhinui Stream; thence by the said Roscommon Road to a point approximately 950 links north of its crossing by the said Puhinui Stream; thence by a right line through Allotment 3 of a subdivision of part of Clendon’s Grant, cn• plan 9075 aforesaid, to and across the said North Island Main Trunk Railway to the north-western corner of Lot 315 of a subdivision of Clendon’s Grant on plan 18037, deposited as aforesaid; thence along the eastern boundary of the said North Island Main Trunk Railway in a northern direction to and across the Puhinui Road; thence along the southern
