Warrant authorizing the Main Highways Board to construct
Portion of the Wanganui–Horopito Main Highway, situated
in the Waimarino County, and apportioning the Cost.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by
section five of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1927,
and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling
me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize the Main Highways Board to construct the portion
of the Wanganui–Horopito Main Highway described in the
Schedule hereto; and I do also declare that the cost thereof
shall be borne by the Main Highways Board, the Wanganui
City Council, and the Waimarino County Council in the
following proportions—viz., the Main Highways Board shall
pay fifty (50) per centum, the Wanganui City Council shall
pay twenty-five (25) per centum, and the Waimarino County
Council shall pay twenty-five (25) per centum of such cost
respectively; and I do further direct that any contribution
hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Wanganui
City Council and the Waimarino County Council shall be paid
from time to time, in the proportions hereinbefore prescribed,
out of the funds of the said Councils, within a period of one
month after demand, in writing, made by or on behalf of the
Main Highways Board; and all such payments shall be made
from time to time to the Chairman of the Main Highways
Board for and on behalf of the said Councils.

SCHEDULE.

THAT portion of the Wanganui–Horopito Main Highway
situated in the Wellington Land District, Waimarino County,
commencing at the southern boundary of the Waimarino
County at the Auraki Stream Bridge and proceeding thence
in a northerly direction generally to the Mangawhero Stream
Bridge on the northern boundary of Section 1, Block XV,
Makotuku Survey District. As the said portion of road is
more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
70629, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue and marked “A-B.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 19th day of September, 1928.

Declaring the Springvale Private Burial-ground under Section 2
of the Cemeteries Amendment Act, 1912.—(H. 2/104.)

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS a petition has been presented, under sec-
tion two of the Cemeteries Amendment Act, 1912
(hereinafter termed “the said Act”), praying that the land
described in the Schedule hereto, being a parcel of land
wherein the bodies of Jonathan Holden and of his wife, Ann
Holden, have been buried prior to the commencement of the
said Act, be declared to be a private burial-ground, to be
called and known by the name of “The Springvale Private
Burial-ground”:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to grant the prayer of
the said petition:

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers in that behalf
vested in me by the said Act, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson,
Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby notify that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be and the same is hereby declared to be a
private burial-ground subject to the provisions of the said
Act, to be called and known by the name of the “Springvale
Private Burial-ground”:

And I do further notify and declare that the lineal descend-
ants of the said Jonathan Holden (deceased) and of his wife,
the said Ann Holden (deceased), and the husbands or wives
of any of the lineal descendants of the said Jonathan Holden
and of his wife the said Ann Holden shall be the only class
of persons who may now or hereafter be buried in the said
Springvale Private Burial-ground:

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land situate in the Provincial District of
Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 1 rood
38 perches (be the same a little more or less), being parts of
Hampden Suburban Sections Numbers 62, 64, and 65, and
a closed road comprising Lot Number 2 on a plan deposited
in the Land Transfer Office at Napier under No. 4770, and
being part of the land comprised and described in Certificate
of Title Volume 64, folio 170 (Hawke’s Bay Registry):
Bounded as follows: Commencing at the intersection of the
south boundary of Hampden Suburban Section No. 65 with
the west side of the Hampden–Wakarara Road; and thence
bounded generally on the south by other part of Hampden
Suburban Sections Numbers 64, 62, and closed road lines
823·3, 818·4, 571·8, 843·3, 268·6, and 244·7 links, respectively;
thence on the north-west, north, and east by other part of
said Hampden Suburban Section No. 62, lines 264, 204·3,
375·7, 161, and 270·9 links, respectively; thence generally on
the north by other part of said Hampden Suburban Sections 62,
64, 65, and closed road lines 643·8, 508·8, 24·6, 802·4, and
864·6 links, respectively, to the west side of Hampden–
Wakarara Road; thence on the east by the west side of
said Hampden–Wakarara Road, 102·1 links, to the com-
mencing-point.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 18th day of September, 1928.
