Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken, subject to the party wall rights created by Transfer Number 129074 from Frederick Clark to Walter Smart, in connection with the acquisition of land for street purposes in terms of section six of the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and shall vest subject to the said party wall rights in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington, as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the eighth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 5·51 perches. Being portion of Lot 1, D.P. 1886, and being part Section 205 . (Town of Wellington R.D.), (City of Wellington). (S.O. 2349.)

In the Wellington Land District: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 73095, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 25th day of September, 1928.

Notifying Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the thirtieth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Hawke’s Bay County.—Tarawera Survey District.

SECTION 2, Block VI: Area, 94 acres 2 roods. Upset price, £750.

Weighted with £2,186, valuation for improvements, payable in cash.

Situated at Tarawera, on the Napier-Taupo main road, forty-eight miles from Napier and fifty miles from Taupo. The Tarawera Hotel is situated on this area, and the improvements comprise the hotel of sixteen rooms (with bar, kitchen, scullery, and bathroom). Outbuildings comprise dairy, store, staff’s quarters, washhouse, bottle store, benzine and oil store, motor-shed, &c. Other improvements comprise tennis-courts, grounds laid out, plantations, orchard, stockyard, fowlhouse and run, piggery and run, and fences.

The hotel is a favourite stopping-place for travellers to and from Taupo.

The land comprises fair flats, but steep sideling along creeks. In fair grass, principally danthonia. Would carry five or six cows and few sheep. Well watered. A hot spring is located on the property about one third of a mile from hotel.

Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District for other Land.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor-General, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, being part Section 13, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District: Bounded towards the north-west by other part Section 5, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 375 links; towards the north-east by other part of Section 13, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 400 links; towards the south-east by other part of Section 5, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 375 links; and towards the south-west by other part of Section 5, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 400 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/878, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered blue.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods, more or less, being part Section 5, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District: Bounded towards the north-west by other part Section 5, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 375 links; towards the north-east by Sections 20 and 21, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 400 links; towards the south-east by part Section 13, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 375 links; and towards the south-west by other part Section 5, Block II, Moeangiangi Survey District, a distance of 400 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/878A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of September, 1928.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section four of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

Frederick Reeve Woodham

to be an Inspector under the said Act in respect to the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

SALTWATER LAGOON SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing 3,330 acres, more or less, being Reserve 993, situated in Blocks II and III, Wataroa, and XI, XIV, and XV, Mount Oneone Survey Districts. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/467, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 19th day of September, 1928.
