Notifying Lands in North Auckland Land District for Sale by
Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land
Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
Friday, the twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the lands
described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public
auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby
fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-TOWN LAND.
Rawene Township.
SECTION 133: Area, 1 rood 10 perches. Upset price, £50.
Section 138: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £50.
Sections 236, 237, 238, 239, and 240: Area, 2 roods 27·2
perches. Upset price, £50.
Section 247c: Area, 13-8 perches. Upset price, £250.
Weighted with £3,000, valuation for improvements com-
prising a general store (built of wood and iron on concrete
foundation) covering the whole of the section; payable in
cash.
Section 248c: Area, 5-6 perches. Upset price, £150.
Weighted with £325, valuation for improvements com-
prising a four-roomed dwelling (used as offices) and a two-
roomed dwelling (also used as offices); payable in cash.
All the sections are situated in the Town of Rawene, and
are suitable for building purposes.

The Town of Pipiroa is situate in Hauraki Plains, on the
west bank of the Piako River, a few miles from the coast and
seven miles distant from Thames. Access, either by steamer
or service car, from Auckland.
Sections 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 have a frontage to the main
Waitakaruru-Pipiroa Road. The remaining sections front
Hauraki Street.
The land consists of partly drained alluvial clay deposit,
covered with scrub, raupo, and native grasses.

These sections are situated in the Putorino Township,
which lies on the main highway between Napier and Wairoa,
being distant from Napier thirty-nine miles, and from Wairoa
forty-three miles. The located site of the Putorino Railway-
station on the East Coast Main Trunk railway is two miles
from the township, and it is expected to have the line open
for traffic between Napier and this station in about two
years' time. There is at the present time a. large amount
of daily traffic between Napier and Wairoa, and it is certain
as time goes on and this highway has more money spent on
it, the volume of traffic will increase considerably. If the
time has not yet arrived then it will shortly arrive when
there will be openings in this township for business catering
not only for the travelling public but for the wants of settlers
in the surrounding district, which is all subdivided and
occupied by sheep-farmers. In the township there is a
hotel, store, and post-office. The sections suitable for busi-
ness sites are numbers 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14. The
balance of the sections are good residence-sites, numbers 9
to 11, being easy sloping to flat, and 16 to 19 all flat.
NOTE.--The building on Section 14 is included in upset
price.

hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public
auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby
fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SECTIONS 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17, Block V :
Area, 2 acres 1 rood 14 perches. Upset price, £40.
Situated at the junction of the Stour River and south
branch of the Ashburton River adjacent to the Mount Somers
coal-pits. About eight miles from the Mount Somers Railway-
station. Swampy land, only fit for grazing.

General, this 31st day of August, 1928.
