THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area of settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby set apart and declared open for disposal by way of sale or lease to discharged soldiers, under special tenures, in the manner provided in the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Bay of Islands County, containing by admeasurement 40 acres 3 roods 19 perches, more or less, being Section 39s, Remuera Settlement, Block XII, Omapere Survey District; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 26/15465, deposited at the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 31st day of August, 1928.

Land taken for the Purposes of River-conservation Works generally and River Works in Blocks II and III, Christchurch Survey District, Eyre County.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of river-conservation works generally and river works, and shall vest in the Waimakariri River Trust as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-fifth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight.
