PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers and authorities (if any) it in that behalf thereunto enabling, the Patangata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing and/or securing the interest, sinking fund, and all other charges on a loan of £900, authorized to be raised as a joint loan by the Patangata County Council and the Otane Town Board under the above-mentioned Acts, of which the Patangata County Council had authorized the loan of £565 and the Otane Town Board the loan of £335 for the purpose of repaying their respective agreed proportions of the maturing loans on the Otane Town Hall and Otane Recreation-ground, but limited by and subject to the authority given to the said Patangata County Council by the Local Government Loans Board in that behalf, the said Patanagta County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/25ths of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the special-rating district created for the purpose of the aforesaid loan, being that portion of the Patangata Riding of the Patangata County formerly included in the Otane Town District as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 17th day of January, 1924, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution made and passed by the Patangata County Council at an ordinary meeting held at Waipukurau on Tuesday, the 14th day of August, 1928.

IN accordance with provisions of sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, notice is hereby given that a general meeting of members of SCHNEIDEMAN BROTHERS, LIMITED (in liquidation), will be held at the office of the Liquidator, 305 Chancery Chambers, O’Connell Street, Auckland, on Monday, the 17th day of September, 1928, at 3 o’clock p.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore existing between WILLIAM IRVINE, GEORGE IRVINE, and CHRISTOPHER IRVINE under the style of “Irvine Brothers” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 31st day of July, 1927. The business of farmers will in future be carried on by William Irvine and George Irvine under the style of “Irvine Bros.”

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF NAME.
I, LYELL CHARLES D’ATH, heretofore called and known by the name of “Lyell Charles Death,” of Rapanui, Farmer, hereby give notice that by deed of poll dated the 28th day of August, 1928, duly executed and attested, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Death,” and declared that I had assumed and adopted, and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “D’Ath,” and so to be at all times thereafter called, known, and subscribed by the name of “D’Ath” exclusively.

“It was resolved that, the financial position of the company being such that the company cannot further carry on business, it be voluntarily wound up, and that Mr. E. J. WOOLF, of Christchurch, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator.”

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Bay of Islands County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920, the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Native Land Act, 1909, to execute a public work—namely, the construction of a public road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the said road and of the land required to be taken is deposited for public inspection at the office of the Bay of Islands County Council, Albert Street, Kawakawa; and notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of such public work or by the taking of such land shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of such public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Council Office, Kawakawa.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of land required to be taken: 1 acre 1 rood 1 perch. Being part of Kotuku B No. 1 Block, situated in Block V, Motatau Survey District, and coloured red on the said plan. (Plan No. 24475.)
