THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

Public Works Act, 1908, the piece of land described in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of a public street and highway, and that a plan of the land proposed to be taken is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Queen Street, Auckland, and may be inspected there (without fee) during office hours: And further notice is hereby given that unless within forty days from the 31st day of August, 1928, being the date of the first publication of this notice, any written objection to the taking of such land is sent to the Town Clerk aforesaid, the Auckland City Council shall forthwith proceed to take the said land for such public work.

THE SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situated in the City of Auckland, containing 16·2 perches, more or less, being part of Allotment 35 of the Parish of Titirangi.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Wellington City Milk-supply Act, 1919, and their Amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, at Alma Lane, for the purpose of the milk-supply of the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his office.

NOTICE is hereby given that DUNLOP RUBBER COMPANY (NEW ZEALAND), LIMITED, a company duly incorporated in England and having its registered office at 32 Osnaburgh Street, in the County of London, proposes to commence and carry on business in New Zealand at Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin, and that the offices or places of business of such company in the said cities are situate as follows, viz:—

MARLBOROUGH ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance of and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Marlborough Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the loan of £27,500, authorized to be raised by the Marlborough Electric-power Board under the above-named Act for the following purposes—namely, To extend electric reticulation works for which authority to borrow £275,000 was obtained in 1924—the said Marlborough Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixteenth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Marlborough Electric-power District, comprising the whole of the said district as defined in the Proclamation proclaiming said district appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 25th day of October, 1923, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned ERNEST CHARLES GILLANDERS and ALEXANDER MORTLAND, under the style of “A. Mortland and Co.,” at Palmerston North, has been this day dissolved by mutual consent. The debts owing from or to the firm will be discharged or received by the said Alexander Mortland, who will continue to carry on the business at 113 Cuba Street, Palmerston North.
