Lands permanently reserved.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time set apart temporarily as reserves, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

And whereas by the three-hundred-and-sixtieth section of the said Act it is provided that land temporarily reserved under the said three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette:

And whereas by the seventy-first section of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, it is further provided that the Governor-General may from time to time, as he thinks fit, set aside reserves for any specified public purpose out of lands acquired under the last-mentioned Act, provided that no land so acquired shall be set aside for endowments:

And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the Warrants the dates of which are specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notifications of which were published in the Gazette specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Acts for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Acts, do hereby permanently reserve the lands so temporarily reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.

Notifying Lands in Nelson Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

Township of Takaka.

SECTION 14, Block X, Waitapu Survey District: Area, 9 perches. Upset price, £130.
Section 15, Block X, Waitapu Survey District: Area, 12.6 perches. Upset price, £150.
Section 16, Block X, Waitapu Survey District: Area, 12.9 perches. Upset price, £150.

Situated with a frontage to Commercial Road, the main street of Takaka Township, and are suitable for business sites. All have frontages of 45-96 links to the main street.

Opening National-endowment Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease, subject to Section 20 of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Amendment Act, 1923.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national-endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease, subject to the provisions of section twenty of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Amendment Act, 1923, on Monday, the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Whangarei County.—Hukerenui Survey District.

SECTION 14, Block III: Area, 339 acres 0 roods 13 perches. Capital value, £765. Half-yearly rent, £19 2s. 6d.
Section 16, Block III, and Section 9, Block IV: Area, 464 acres 2 roods 13 perches. Capital value, £660. Half-yearly rent, £16 10s.

Situated about seven miles from Whakapara Railway-station by metalled cart-road and about half a mile from Puhipuhi School. Practically all hilly to broken country, being worked out kauri bush, with a fair amount of stone
