HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.
STAFF.
The notices published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 63, dated 8th September, 1927, relative to Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. Northcroft, D.S.O., V.D., are hereby cancelled, and the notices mentioned herein are substituted.
Lieutenant-Colonel E. H. Northcroft, D.S.O., V.D., Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, seconded to the N.Z. Army Legal Department, to be Deputy Judge-Advocate-General, and attached to General Headquarters. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
N.Z. STAFF CORPS.
Major F. A. Wood, M.C., is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 11th August, 1928.
N.Z. PERMANENT AIR FORCE.
Captain L. M. Isitt to be Major. Dated 12th August, 1928.
QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S (WELLINGTON WEST COAST) MOUNTED RIFLES.
2nd Lieutenant E. R. Harford to be Lieutenant. Dated 2nd July, 1928.
Leslie Robert Neilson to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 1st August, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant M. A. Young to be Lieutenant. Dated 11th August, 1928.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieut.-Colonel E. H. Northcroft, D.S.O., V.D., from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is seconded for service with the N.Z. Army Legal Department. Dated 23rd August, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant J. H. Hall-Kenny, from the Wellington Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, 15th Coast Battery, with seniority as from the 27th January, 1927. Dated 7th August, 1928.
CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.
Northern Depot.
Major A. T. Dow, V.D., is transferred to the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own). Dated 28th July, 1928.
CORPS OF SIGNALS.
Northern Depot.
Lieutenant T. M. Kenealy is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 1. Dated 15th August, 1928.
Lieutenant R. S. Wheeler to be Captain. Dated 1st August, 1928.
THE N.Z. INFANTRY.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).
Major A. T. Dow, V.D., from the Corps of N.Z. Engineers, to be Major, and is seconded for duty with the 6th C Battalion. Dated 28th July, 1928.
2nd Lieutenant H. R. Heward, 3rd C Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 8th August, 1928.
The Waikato Regiment.
Lieutenant E. H. Ormsby, 1st Battalion, is retired. Dated 9th August, 1928.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) C. M. Newton, 2nd C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 8th August, 1928.
The Wellington Regiment.
Lieutenant H. J. Freeman, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 9th August, 1928.
2nd Lieutenant J. H. Hall-Kenny, 4th C Battalion, is transferred to the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery. Dated 7th August, 1928.
2nd Lieutenant L. G. Thompson, 4th C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 15th August, 1928.
The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.
Jack Leslie South to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 23rd July, 1928.
Captain R. L. McGaffin ceases to be seconded to the 2nd C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 10th July, 1928.
The Taranaki Regiment.
Lieutenant J. H. Adam, 1st Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 8th August, 1928.
The Canterbury Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant K. Gibbons, 3rd C Battalion, is transferred to the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment. Dated 13th August, 1928.
The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant K. Gibbons, from the Canterbury Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 15th December, 1926, and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 13th August, 1928.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
The undermentioned are posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain their rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 15th August, 1928.

N.Z. ARMY LEGAL DEPARTMENT.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-order and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for Mrs. C. R. Tyssen, Heemstede, Holland.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in receiving money under pretence of foretelling future events, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by her own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.
