PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Palmerston North Sewerage Loan of £16,000 (1928).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Palmerston North Borough Council resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of sixteen thousand pounds (£16,000) authorized by poll of ratepayers taken on the 15th day of February, 1928, to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of enabling the said Council to extend the sewerage system through those streets where required, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-thirteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years from the 1st day of June, 1928, or until the said loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of THE ROYAL EXCHANGE COMPANY, LIMITED.

ON the 7th day of June, 1928, the following resolution was duly passed, viz.:—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that WILLIAM HENRY CLARK, Gentleman, and CHARLES HORACE GILBY, Public Accountant, both of Christchurch, be appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of WALKER BROS., LTD., Kaikoura, a company with limited liability, duly registered under the provisions of the said Act.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 2nd day of June, 1928, the following resolutions were carried:—

(1) “That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

(2) “That for the purpose of such winding-up Mr. A. O. WILKINSON, Public Accountant, Christchurch, be appointed Liquidator.”

HUNGAHUNGA DRAINAGE BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hungahunga Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £250, authorized to be raised by the Hungahunga Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for constructing drainage works within the Matamata North Special-rating Area of the Board’s district the Hungahunga Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate on a graduated scale according to the Board’s classification upon Class “ A ” of threepence three-farthings in the pound, upon Class “ B ” of twopence half-penny in the pound, and upon Class “ C ” of one penny half-penny in the pound, upon the rateable unimproved values of the rateable property of the Matamata North Special-rating Area of the Hungahunga Drainage District, comprising all that area in Blocks VIII and IX, Wairere Survey District, in the Land District of Auckland, bounded commencing at a point on the Waitoa–Matamata Road 70 chains north from the southern boundary of Lot 1, Parish of Waitoa ; towards the north-west by a line drawn at right angles to the road to the north-eastern boundary of the said Lot 1, and by that boundary and the north-western boundary of Matamata North 2B to the northern corner thereof ; towards the north-east generally by the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Matamata North 2B, eastern boundary of Sections 1 and 4, Block VIII, Wairere, northern boundary of the Crown land adjoining Matamata North 1D, north-eastern boundaries thereof and of Matamata North 1D, and of Lots 2 and 1, Matamata North 1C, south-eastern boundary of the last lot, and north-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block IX, Wairere ; towards the south-east generally by the south-eastern boundary of this Section 3 and south-western boundary thereof to the south-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block IX, Wairere, and by that boundary to the Waitoa–Matamata Road, and towards the south-west by the said road to the point of commencement—and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1924, and their amendments.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council proposes under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for street purposes, Willis Street and Old Customhouse Street, in the City of Wellington—and the for purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken :

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land required to be taken is deposited in the Public Office of the Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours ; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of the said land should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Wellington City Council, addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate in the City of Wellington containing 11·57 perches, being part Lot 1 on deposited plan number 1886, part Section 205, Town of Wellington, and coloured red on the said plan. Subject to the party-wall rights created by transfer Number 129074, from Frederick Clark to Walter Smart.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas-lighting Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £21,900, authorized to be raised by the Petone and Lower Hutt Gas-Lighting Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of extinguishing the Board’s overdraft existing on the 24th day of November, 1927 (being the day of commencement of the Petone and Lower Hutt
