THE COMMERCIAL BANK OF AUSTRALIA, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that the COMMERCIAL BANK OF AUSTRALIA, LIMITED, proposes to commence to carry on business at Foxton.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Hawke’s Bay intends to execute a certain public work—namely, the erection of a public school—and to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a public school the following lands, namely :—
(a) All that parcel of land situate in the County of Waiapu containing by admeasurement one acre two roods (1 acre 2 roods), more or less, being part of the Marangairoa 1c 6e 1 Block, situate in Block XVI, East Cape Survey District, and being the whole of the land edged blue on the plan hereinafter referred to, a copy of which is also deposited in the office of the Department of Lands and Survey at Gisborne under Number 1309 (brown).
(b) All that parcel of land situate in the County of Waiapu containing by admeasurement one acre two roods (1 acre 2 roods), more or less, being part of the Marangairoa 1c 6d Block, situate in Block XVI, East Cape Survey District, and being all the land edged red on the said plan.
Notice is further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the office of Messrs. Nolan and Skeet, Solicitors, Tokomaru Bay, and is open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-founded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such lands, are hereby called upon to state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Hawke’s Bay, at its office in Browning Street, Napier, New Zealand.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that by an extraordinary resolution of GLEN AFTON BRICK AND TILE WORKS, LIMITED, duly passed on the 1st day of May, 1928, and confirmed on the 18th day of May, 1928, so as to constitute the same a special resolution, it was resolved that the said Glen Afton Brick and Tile Works, Ltd., be wound up voluntarily, and that HAROLD ERNEST SIMMONDS, Public Accountant, of Auckland, be appointed Liquidator.”

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.
North Douglas Road Loan of £1,500.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Stratford County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Stratford County North Douglas Road Special-rating District Loan of £1,500, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Stratford County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling the Douglas Road northward from Huiroa for a distance of about three miles, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence threefarthings (2¾d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the North Douglas Road Special-rating District in the County of Stratford, being more particularly described in the Schedule at the foot hereof, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
SCHEDULE.
All rateable property within a line commencing at the junction of the Douglas and Makuri Roads, westerly along a line bisecting Section 3, Block IX, Ngatimaru Survey District, to its western boundary ; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 3 and 4 of Block IX, Ngatimaru Survey District, to Section 1 of Block VIII, Huiroa Survey District ; thence westerly along the south-western boundary of the said Section 1 to the county boundary ; thence northerly and easterly along the Stratford County boundary to the eastern corner of Section 18, Block V, Ngatimaru Survey District ; thence south-westerly along the boundary of the said Section 18 to the Autawa Road ; thence southerly and easterly along the Autawa Road to Section 6 of Block V, Ngatimaru Survey District ; thence along the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 6 and the eastern boundaries of Section 26, Block V, Ngatimaru Survey District, to the Kiore Road ; thence westerly along the Kiore Road to Section 8, Block IX, Ngatimaru Survey District ; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 8 and the eastern and southern boundaries of Sections 17 and 30, Block IX, Ngatimaru Survey District, to the starting-point ; such rateable property comprising Sections 1, 7, 9, 10, and 13 of Block VIII, Huiroa Survey District ; Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 18, and 26 of Block V ; and Sections 4, 5, 8, 17, 30, and half of 3 of Block IX, Ngatimaru Survey District.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Waikato County Council Cambridge Road Board District Loan of £4,400, authorized to be raised by the Waikato County Council for the purpose of tar-sealing portion of the Hamilton–Rotorua Main Highway within the boundaries of the Cambridge Road Board District, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven thirty-seconds of a penny in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Cambridge Road Board District, County of Waikato, as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of 18th day of May, 1883, at page 654 ; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
