Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Geraldine Town District.
SECTIONS 240 and 241: Area, 2 roods. Upset price, £90. Situated in the Borough of Geraldine, on the corner of Wilson and Lewis Streets. Suitable for building-sites.

Opening Land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the tenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hawke’s Bay County.—Puketapu Survey District.
SECTION 10, Block IV: Area, 691 acres. Capital value, £3,000. Deposit on deferred payments: £200; half-yearly instalment, £91. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £75.
Weighted with £665, valuation for improvements consisting of two-roomed house (with scullery, storeroom, and wash-house), sheep-yards, plantation, road to house, and 350 chains of fencing. Payable in cash or may remain on instalment mortgage over a term of twenty years.
Situated nine miles from Bay View Railway-station and seventeen miles from Napier on the main Napier-Wairoa Road. Watered by permanent streams. Open pastoral country with manuka scrub in gullies. Certain amount of blackberry. Good sheep country if cleared up and properly farmed.

Opening Settlement Land in Southland Land District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Wallace County.—Jacobs River Hundred.—Ermedale Settlement.
SECTION 25, Block XIII: Area, 207 acres 1 rood 15 perches. Capital value, £1,175. Half-yearly rent, £29 7s. 6d.
Weighted with £625, valuation for improvements consisting of four-roomed house, cow-shed, stable and barn, implement-shed, fencing, &c; £100 payable in cash, balance may remain on instalment mortgage to the State Advances Office for a thirty-years term. Interest, 6 per cent.
The section is situated five miles from Fairfax Railway-station and dairy factory, and half a mile from Ermedale School, by good roads. Altitude, 200 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Suitable for mixed farming.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the eighteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Ashburton County.—Alford Survey District.
PART Reserve 3374, Block XVI: Area, 5 acres 0 roods 2 perches. Capital value, £75. Half-yearly rent, £1 10s.
Part of the Mount Somers Tramway Reserve, situated close to railway-station. Fencing on property belongs to former licensee, and successful applicant will require to make his own arrangements for payment of same. Divided into three paddocks.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease, subject to the provisions of section twenty of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Amendment Act, 1923, on Tuesday, the tenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SECTION 3, Block IX: Area, 584 acres; capital value, £2,000; half-yearly rent, £50.
Situated five miles from Waikare (Putorino) Post-office and school. The block is suitable for pastoral purposes. Watered by good permanent streams and springs. About 230 acres would grow green crops. Buildings comprise two-roomed cottage and porch in good condition, a small shearing-shed of corrugated-iron, and sheep-yards. The section is ring-fenced, except where naturally stock-proof with river and creek banks. Would carry about 400 wet sheep and 200 dry
