Notifying Land in Southland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—RURAL LAND.

Southland County.

SECTION 42, Block VII, Waikawa Survey District: Area, 9 acres 2 roods. Upset price, £25.

Weighted with £16, valuation for improvements; payable in cash.

Situated about two miles from Waikawa. The land is in manuka scrub and light bush, with the exception of 3 acres, which has been felled and grassed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of May, 1928.

Notifying Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the nineteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Hawke’s Bay County.—Tarawera Survey District.

SECTION 2, Block VI: Area, 94 acres 2 roods. Upset price, £1,150.

Weighted with £2,186, valuation for improvements; payable in cash.

Situated at Tarawera, on the Napier-Taupo Main Road, forty-eight miles from Napier, and fifty miles from Taupo. The Tarawera Hotel is situated on this area, and the improvements comprise the hotel of sixteen rooms, with bar, kitchen, scullery, and bathroom. Outbuildings comprise dairy, store, staff’s quarters, washhouse, bottle store, benzine and oil store, motor-shed, &c. Other improvements comprise tennis-courts, grounds laid out, plantations, orchard, stock-yard, fowlhouse and run, piggery and run, and fences.

The hotel is a favourite stopping-place for travellers to and from Taupo.

The land comprises fair flats, but steep sidelong along creeks. In fair grass, principally danthonia. Would carry five or six cows and few sheep; well watered. A hot spring is located about one third of a mile from hotel.

Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Township of Orari.

SECTION 4, Block X: Area, 1 rood 5 perches. Upset price, £6.

Section fronts Gladstone and Opihi Streets, and comprises flat, light, stony land, mostly covered with gorse. Situated about one mile from Orari Railway-station and school.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 12th day of May, 1928.

Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Auckland District for other Land.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:

And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being Lot 1 of Section 3, Block IX, Thames Survey District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 3 roods 16 perches, more or less, and more particularly described as follows: Bounded commencing at the easternmost corner of the Te Reureu Block towards the north-west generally by the Kahe Block, 433, 515, 1129, 1126 links respectively; towards the south-east by other part of Section 3, Block IX, Thames Survey District, 3014·8 links, to the point of commencement: Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan deposited in the Head Office of the Lands and Survey Department, Wellington, as No. 22/1432A, and thereon edged red.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Auckland Land District, being part of the Kahe Block, Block IX, Thames Survey District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 2 roods 33 perches, more or less, and more particularly described as follows: Bounded commencing at the northernmost corner of the Kahe Block, towards the east and south-east generally by Section 2, Block IX, Thames Survey District, 100, 1285·7, 432·2 links respectively; towards the east by portion of Crown land, 398·6 links, to the intersection of a public road; towards the west generally by the said public road, 303·4, 287·2, 422·7, and 70 links respectively, to the intersection with the Shag Stream; thence along the Shag Stream to its junction with the Waiwhakaurunga River; towards the north-west generally by the Waiwhakaurunga River, to the point of commencement: Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan deposited in the Head Office, Lands and Survey Department, Wellington, as No. 22/1432B, and thereon edged red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 15th day of May, 1928.
