HUTT RIVER BOARD.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the River Boards Act, 1908, and their amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Hutt River Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, river-protection works in the Hutt River District—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Board, at the corner of Main Street and Laing’s Road, Lower Hutt, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during the ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Hutt River Board, addressed to the Clerk to the said Board at the said office.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.
I, EDWARD HENRY ROCHE, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. (England), 1926; M.B.B.S. (London), 1927; now residing in Cambridge, Waikato, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 7th June, 1928, to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Hutt County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Hutt County Waterworks No. 25 Special-rating District Loan of £2,320, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Hutt County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of constructing waterworks and works incidental thereto for supplying water to the No. 25 Special-rating District at Paraparaumu Beach, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one (1) penny and thirty-three hundredths (33/100ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the No. 25 Special-rating District in the County of Hutt, being more particularly described in the Schedule at the foot hereof, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
SCHEDULE.
All those lands in Block III, Kapiti Survey District, Wellington Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point formed by the intersection of the eastern boundary of Section 8, Block III, Kapiti Survey District, with Beach Road; thence north-easterly along the eastern boundary of the said Section 8, Block III, Kapiti Survey District, for a distance of 17 chains 20 links; thence by a right line having
a bearing of 313° north-west, to the road reserve; thence generally north-easterly, northerly, and westerly along the western boundary of the said road reserve to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Section 9, Block III, Kapiti Survey District; thence south-westerly and north-westerly along the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Section 9, to the sea-coast; thence generally in a southern direction along the sea-coast to the southern boundary of Ngarara West B 7, Subdivision 3; thence south-easterly along this boundary to its intersection with the western boundary of Ngarara West 2c; thence north-easterly along this boundary to its intersection with Beach Road; thence across the said road and easterly along its northern boundary to the point of commencement.
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Hutt County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Hutt County River Bridge Loan of £1,000, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Hutt County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the construction of a new bridge over the Hutt River at Lower Hutt, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two one-hundredths (2/100ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the No. 24 Special-rating District, being the Mungaroa, Heretaunga, Epuni, and Wainui-o-Mata Ridings of the County of Hutt, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty (30) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Johnsonville Town Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Johnsonville Town Board Recreation Reserve Redemption Loan of £1,860, 1927, authorized to be raised by the Johnsonville Town Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repaying the balance of the Recreation Reserve Loan of £3,000 over and above the amount of accrued sinking fund which matured on 30th November, 1927, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Johnsonville Town District, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Richmond Channelling Redemption Loan of £700, 1928.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of seven hundred pounds (£700), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of paying-off the balance of the Richmond Channelling Loan of £1,640, the sinking fund provided not being sufficient to meet the loan on maturity, the Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifty-one two-hundred-and-fiftieths (51/250ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the Richmond Channelling Special-rating Area, as defined in the Schedule hereto, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of
