the Ruahine Range, and proceeding thence in an easterly
direction along the northern boundary of the forest reserve
to the Oruakeretaki Stream, along the aforesaid stream to
its intersection with the northern boundary of Section 50,
Block I, Woodville Survey District; thence easterly along
the northern boundaries of Sections 50, 51, and 54, Block I
aforesaid, to a public road, across that road, and along the
northern boundary of Section 13 to its intersection with the
Oruakeretaki Stream; thence along that stream to its con-
fluence with the Manawatu River; thence southerly along
the right bank of that river to a point in line with the southern
boundary of Lot 2 on plan 3777, deposited in the office of the
District Land Registrar at Napier; thence easterly along that
boundary to its intersection with a public road forming the
south-eastern boundary of the Otawhao Block; along the
western side of that road to and along the south-eastern
boundary of the aforesaid block to the most northerly corner
of Section 38, Block XIV, Tahoraite Survey District; thence
easterly along the northern boundaries of Sections 38, 39, and
40, Block XIV, Tahoraite Survey District, Section I, Block XV,
Tahoraite Survey District, to a public road forming the eastern
boundary of the said Section 1; thence southerly along the
western side of that road to a point in line with the northern
boundary of Section 9, Block XV, Tahoraite Survey District,
across the road, and easterly along that boundary to the
north-eastern corner of the aforesaid Section 9; thence
southerly along the eastern boundary of Sections 9 and 8 to
the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence
southerly and westerly generally along the eastern side of the
Rabbit Fence Reserve to its intersection with the north-
western boundary-line of the land shown on plan 4376, de-
posited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellin-
ton; thence westerly generally along the northern boundaries
of that land to the western boundary of Section 13, Block III,
Makuri Survey District; thence northerly along that boundary
to the Rabbit Fence Reserve; thence north-westerly along the
western side of that reserve to the boundary of the Wellington
Land District, and westerly along the northern boundary of
that district to a point in the middle of the Manawatu River;
thence westerly along the middle of that river to a point
opposite the south-eastern corner of Section 2, Subdivision X,
of the Manchester Block; thence northerly along the eastern
boundary of that subdivision to the north-western corner of
Section 3, Block II, Gorge Survey District; thence to and along
the middle of the road forming the north-eastern boundary of
the said Section 3, to a point in line with the western boundary
of Section 2, Block II aforesaid; thence to and along the
western, northern, and eastern boundaries of that section to its
intersection with the western boundary of Section 6, Block II,
aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the western boundaries
of Section 6, Block II aforesaid, Sections 4, 3, 1, and 6, Block
VII, Gorge Survey District, to the north-western corner of the
last-mentioned section; thence south-easterly along the
northern boundary of that section to Whariti Trig. Station;
and thence northerly along the summit of the Ruahine Range
to Trig. Station 85, the point of commencement; and excluding
therefrom the Borough of Woodville.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF MANGAATUA RIDING, COUNTY OF
WOODVILLE.
ALL that area in the Woodville County bounded on the north
and north-west by the Mangaatua River from its confluence
with the Manawatu River to the Borough of Woodville
hereinbefore described; thence by the Borough of Woodville
to the Mangaatua River, and thence by the Mangaatua River
to the point where it crosses the main road in Block VII,
Woodville Survey District; thence along the main road to
the northernmost corner of Section 1, Block XI, Woodville
Survey District; thence along the north-eastern boundary of
Section 1 aforesaid to its north-eastern corner; thence along
the eastern boundaries of Sections 1 and 5, Block XI, Wood-
ville Survey District, and Section 21, Block IX, Tahoraite
Survey District, and the production of the last-named
boundary to the Manawatu River; thence by the Manawatu
River to its confluence with the Mangaatua River, the point
of commencement.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amend-
ment, fixing the Closing-hours of Tobacconists’ Shops within
the Borough of Timaru.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded
to me from the occupiers of tobacconists’ shops
within the Borough of Timaru pursuant to section 32 of the
Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I,
George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct
that on and after the 14th day of May, 1928, all tobacconists’
shops within the said borough shall be closed in the evening
of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wed-
nesdays, and Thursdays at 6 p.m., and on Fridays at 10 p.m.,
with the following exception—should the occupier of any
shop effected by this notice observe pursuant to section 21 (b)
of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, any day other than
Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case
the closing-hour on Friday, if such day is not observed as
the statutory closing-day, shall be 6 p.m. and the closing-hour
on Saturday shall be 10 p.m.
The notice dated the 1st June, 1921, and published in the
New Zealand Gazette of the 2nd June, 1921, fixing the closing-
hours of (1) hairdressers’ and (2) tobacconists’ shops in the
Borough of Timaru shall be and is hereby cancelled in so far
as it relates to the shops affected by this notice as from the
date of the coming into operation of this notice:
And whereas the said requisition is signed by not less than
two-thirds of the occupiers of tobacconists’ shops within the
said borough, notice is hereby given that, pursuant to section 25
of the Shops and Offices Amendment Act, 1927, all other shops
within the said borough in which smoking requisites are sold
shall be closed at the same hours as are set out herein for
tobacconists’ shops.

of Nelson and the Town District of Tahunanui, pursuant to
section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I,
George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct
that on and after the 14th day of May, 1928, all tobacconists’
shops within the said combined district shall be closed in the
evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and Fridays, at 6 p.m. and on Saturdays at 9 p.m.,
with the following exceptions—(1) On the working-day first
preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day first pre-
ceding New Year’s Day, there shall be no fixed closing-hour;
(2) on the working-day first preceding Good Friday the closing-
hour shall be 9 p.m.; (3) should the occupier of any shop
affected by this notice observe, pursuant to section 14 (2) of
the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and section 9 of the
