statutory closing-day, then and in such case, the closing-
hour on Wednesday shall be 6 p.m. and the closing-hour on
Friday shall be 9 p.m. :

And whereas the said requisition is signed by not less than
two-thirds of the occupiers of tobacconists' shops within the
said combined district, notice is hereby given that, pursuant
to section 25 of the Shops and Offices Amendment Act, 1927,
all other shops within the said combined district in which
smoking requisites are sold shall be closed at the same hours
as are set out herein for tobacconists' shops.

Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the Service of Notices

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the
Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed
“the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th
May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the
21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set
against their names, are hereby appointed Transmitting and
Receiving Officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices
by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of
signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such
notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given
under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid :—

Removal of Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence for certain Persons, &c.

WHEREAS the Postmaster-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand has from time to time issued
orders under the provisions of section 28 of the Post
and Telegraph Act, 1908, prohibiting the issue of money-
orders in favour of, and the transmission within New Zealand
of postal packets addressed to, the persons, &c., whose names
and addresses appear in the Schedule hereto : And whereas
the Postmaster-General is satisfied that the necessity for
enforcing orders in the cases referred to no longer exists, he
hereby rescinds the orders concerned so far as they relate
to such persons, &c., and orders that money-orders for such
persons, &c., shall be issued when required, and that postal
packets addressed to such persons, &c., shall be registered
if desired and forwarded and delivered in due course.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Road of less Width than 66 ft.

WHEREAS in the opinion of the Minister of Lands it is
inexpedient, by reason of the fact that the land shown
upon the plan of Town of Belmont Extension No. 14 affecting
part Section 48, Hutt Registration District, and prepared
by Messrs. Martin and Dyett, Licensed Surveyors, is intended
to be used wholly for residential purposes, that the road
shown therein should be of the width of 66 ft. :

Now, therefore, I, Alexander Donald McLeod, Minister of
Lands, do hereby, in pursuance of the power conferred upon
me by section 17, subsection (1), of the Land Act, 1924, and
of every other power me thereunto enabling, authorize the
laying-off of such road of a width of 40 ft.: Provided always
that it shall not be lawful for any person to erect or cause
to be erected any building at a less distance than 33 ft. from
the middle of such road.

Given under my hand, this 21st day of April, 1928.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act,
1908, (Part III), and Amendments.

WHEREAS it has been reported to the Public Trustee
that William Molone, latterly of Reparoa, Rotorua,
in the Provincial District of Auckland, in New Zealand, but
formerly of Aria, in the said Provincial District, Farmer, is
the owner of the following property, the gross value of which
is less than £1,000, namely:-

Balance money held in trust by H. Hine, Esquire, Solicitor,
Te Kuiti, amounting to £81 8s. 2d. :

And whereas it is not known where the said William Molone
is, or whether he is alive or dead : And whereas it is provided by Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908
(relating to unclaimed property), as amended by section 41
of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, that
when it is not known where the owner of any real or personal
property is, or whether he is alive or dead, and the value of
such property does not exceed £1,000, the Public Trustee
(with the consent of the Public Trust Office Board) may, by
notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to exercise the
powers conferred on him by section 87 of the Public Trust
Office Act, 1908, and thereafter exercise the same without
application to the Court : And whereas the said consent of
the Public Trust Office Board has been duly given :

Now, the Public Trustee hereby gives notice that he intends
to take possession of the property above mentioned, and to
exercise in respect thereof the powers conferred upon him in
and by the provisions of Part III of the Public Trust Office
Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof.

Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, HAROLD BEANLAND WALTON, Assistant Registrar
of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as
it has been made to appear to me that the Otau Telephone
Society (Incorporated) is no longer carrying on its operations,
the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of
section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.
