charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Whangamarino Road Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of metalling 80 chains, more or less, of the Waerenga-Maramarua Road; the said Whangamarino Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of a penny (3/8d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Waerenga-Maramarua Special-rating Area of the Whangamarino Road District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
The Waerenga-Maramarua Special-rating Area comprises the north part of Section 437 (60 acres), Block X, Piako Survey District; Section 198, Block IX, Piako Survey District; Sections 199A, 18, 19, 31, 30, 74, 61, 16, 33, 60, 197A, Block V, Piako Survey District, and Sections 18, 19, 22, 5, 66, Block VI, Piako Survey District.

WHANGAROA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Whangaroa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Whangaroa County Wharves Loan of £5,000, 1927, authorized to be raised by the Whangaroa County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the construction of a wharf at Whangaroa (£4,000) and for construction of a wharf at Totara North (£1,000), the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-eighths (⅝ths.) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Whangaroa, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
RESOLUTION INCREASING SPECIAL RATE.
In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Whangaroa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Whangaroa County Wharves Loan of £5,000, 1927, authorized to be raised by the Whangaroa County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the construction of a wharf at Whangaroa (£4,000) and for construction of a wharf at Totara North (£1,000), the said Council pursuant to section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, hereby increases to nine-tenths (⁹⁄₁₀ths.) of a penny in the pound sterling the special rate of five-eighths (⅝ths.) of a penny in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 12th day of December, 1927, on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Whangaroa, such rate of five-eighths (⅝ths) of a penny in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan, and that such special rate as increased shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Otago and Southland District, dated the 22nd day of December, 1927, confirming the reduction of the capital of the above-named company from £100,000 to £50,000, and the minute (approved by the Court) showing with respect to the capital of the company (as altered) the several particulars required by the above statute

were registered by the Assistant Registrar of Companies at Dunedin on the 23rd day of December, 1927: And further take notice that the said minute is in the words and figures following:—
“ The capital of TODD BROS., LIMITED, henceforth is £50,000, divided into 100,000 ordinary shares of 10s. each instead of £100,000 divided into 100,000 ordinary shares of £1 each, by reducing the said 100,000 ordinary shares in amount from £1 each to 10s. each.
“ At the date of registration of this minute the sum of 10s. shall be deemed to have been paid up on each share.”

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, instalments of principal, and other charges on a supplementary loan of £1,600, authorized to be raised by the Waikato County Council under section 19 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of the completion of the constructing and metalling of roads for the first time, the Waikato County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one thirteenth (¹⁄₁₃) of a penny in the pound sterling, on the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Orini Special-rating District, the boundaries of which are defined in the New Zealand Gazette at page 521, published on the 17th day of February, 1921, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year for a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

FRIENDLY SOCIETIES ACT, 1909.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Deputy Registrar of Friendly Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated this 22nd day of December, 1927, cancelled the registry of Waipawa Branch of the New Zealand District of the Hibernian-Australasian Catholic Benefit Society Friendly Society (Register No. 198/16), held at Waipawa, on the ground that the said branch has ceased to exist.

RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members of the Committee of the Waipapakauri Racing Club at a meeting held on the 21st day of December, 1927, at Kaitaia, with a recommendation by the Chairman of such club, Mr. T. S. Houston, that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. Houston, the Chairman of such club and the meeting moved, and Mr. T. J. Fleming seconded, and it was resolved that such regulations should be adopted and that the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.
The following are the regulations referred to:—
WAIPAPAKAURI RACING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Waipapakauri Racing Club, a racing club within the meaning of the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said Club”) doth hereby make the following regulations controlling the admission of persons to that part of the Bay of Islands Racecourse situated in the district of Kawakawa and known as the Bay of Islands Racecourse while the said racecourse is used or occupied by the said club for race meetings.
