THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
No. 1

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
    club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act,
  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the racecourse above described while the same is used
    or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely :—
    (a) Bookmakers.
    (b) Bookmakers’ clerks, bookmakers’ assistants, and book-
    makers’ agents.
    (c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
    racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New
    Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or else-
    where if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing Con-
    ference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference, or
    the New Zealand Trotting Association.
    (d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually con-
    sort with thieves or persons who have no lawful
    visible means of support.
    (e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-
    breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or pos-
    sessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences, re-
    ceiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any offence
    or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act, 1908,
    and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues, and
    vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted under
    the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons convicted
    of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.

Provided always that the Stipendiary Stewards’ Com-
mittee appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference,
upon being satisfied by evidence as to character and other-
wise that any person who, by reason of any conviction, comes
within the scope of this regulation should have relief from the
effect thereof, may grant exemption to any such person, and
may at any time revoke any such exemption without notice to
such person, and without assigning any reason for such
revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Waipapakauri Racing
Club were made and passed by such Club on the 21st day of
December, 1927, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

TAKE notice that the Partnership hitherto existing
between KENNETH MCKINLEY RUTHERFORD, WILLIAM
VICTOR ROBINSON, and FREDERIC GEORGE AUSTIN, and
carried on at Auckland under the style or name of Rutherford,
Robinson, and Austin, Land and Estate Agents, Auctioneers,
and Manufacturers Representatives, has been dissolved as
from the 30th day of November, 1927.

As from that date the said Kenneth McKinley Rutherford
and William Victor Robinson shall carry on the said business
at the premises of the late partnership alone under the style
of Rutherford, Robinson, and Austin. All debts due to the
late Partnership and all liabilities of the same shall be paid
to and discharged by the said Kenneth McKinley Rutherford
and William Victor Robinson.

THE MAJESTIC GOLD-MINING COMPANY, LTD.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general
meeting of the shareholders of the MAJESTIC GOLD-
MINING COMPANY, LTD., held on 21st December, 1927, the
following extraordinary resolution was passed :—

“That it is proved to the company’s satisfaction that the
company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its
business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.”

KAWHIA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it that
behalF by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Kawhia
County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £300 (three hundred pounds) authorized
to be raised by the Kawhia County Council under the above-
mentioned Act for metalling portion of the Oparau Block
Road, the said Kawhia County Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of one-half penny in the pound upon the
rateable value of all rateable properties of the Oparau Block
Road Special-rating Area in the Kawhia County, comprising
all that portion of the country bounded as follows : Being
all that area in the Kawhia County, Kawhia North Survey
District, commencing at the south-west corner of Section 3,
Block III ; thence in a north-westerly direction to the north-
ern boundary of Section 3 ; thence in an easterly direction
along the northern boundary of the said Section 3 and the
northern boundaries of Sections 5, 6, and 31, Block IV, to the
Oparau Block Road ; thence along Oparau Road to the
northern boundary of Section 10, Block IV ; thence in an
easterly and southerly direction to the southern boundary of
Section 10 ; thence in a westerly direction along the southern
boundaries of Sections 10, 9, and 8, and a portion of the
boundary of Section 7, Block IV ; thence in a southerly
direction to the eastern corner of Section 3, Block VII ;
thence in an easterly direction thirty chains along the south-
ern boundary of Section 3B2C4 ; thence in a right line due
south to the Pirongia West Road ; thence in a south-westerly
direction on a right line seventy chains, and thence in a right
line twenty chains south through section part 3B2C3 ; thence
along the southern boundary of the said section part 3B2C3
in a westerly direction to the Oparau Block Road ; thence
in a south-westerly direction along the Oparau Block Road,
a distance of fifteen chains in a north-westerly direction,
traversing Section 3B2A No. 3 (Irvine) to Section 3B2G ;
thence following the boundary of Section 3B2G to its inter-
section with the western boundary of Section 2A, Block VII
(Handley) ; thence in a northerly direction by the western
boundary of Sections 2A and 3, Block VII, to its junction
with the southern boundary of Section 3, Block III ; thence
along the southern boundary of the said Section 3 to the
point of commencement : and that such special rate shall
be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 17th day of August
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

DEPARTMENT, giving—

(1) A list of members of the New Zealand Expeditionary
Forces killed in action, died of wounds inflicted
or accidents occurring, or disease contracted while
on active service.

(2) Those who died after discharge from the New Zealand
Expeditionary Force from wounds inflicted or
disease contracted while on active service.

(3) Those who died from accident occurring or disease
contracted while training with or attached to the
New Zealand Expeditionary Forces in New Zealand.
