IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the Masonic Hall, Havelock Street, Ashburton, on Friday, the 13th day of January, 1928, at 2.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

EXTRAORDINARY resolution passed at a meeting duly convened at the office of the company, Elliott Street, on the 15th day of December, 1927.

“Resolved by way of extraordinary resolution that it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that FOOTE BROTHERS, LIMITED, be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that THOMAS ARCHIBALD FELTON, No. 1 Anzac Avenue, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding up the company.”

“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that GEORGE EDMUND PARSONS and RICHARD THOMAS POPE be the Liquidators.”

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand five hundred pounds (£2,500) authorized to be raised by the Levin Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of completing the undertaking of making streets and footpaths, such loan being one-tenth of the amount of a loan of £25,000 authorized by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 16th day of May, 1923, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eleventh of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Levin, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PUKEKOHE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Pukekohe Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Pukekohe Borough Public Services Supplementary Loan of £2,000, 1927, being 10 per cent. additional to a loan of £20,000, which amount forms portion of an authorization of £83,000 authorized to be raised by the Pukekohe Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of making roads and footpaths, purchase of road-making machinery and erection of shed to store same, engineering fees, and contingencies, £20,000 (such amount of £20,000 being insufficient to complete the works for which such loan was raised), the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifteenth (1/15th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Pukekohe, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Loan of £250—Workers’ Dwellings.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a further loan of £250 (being 10 per centum additional of the amount of the original loan of £2,500) authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings for occupation by workers employed or resident in the County of Rangitikei, and to purchase the necessary land upon which all or any of the said dwellings are to be erected, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one eighteen-hundredth of a penny (1/1800d.) in the pound sterling (such special rate to be in addition to the special rate of one two-hundredth of a penny (1/200d.) in the pound sterling made on the 30th day of October, 1924, in respect of the said original loan of £2,500) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property within the County of Rangitikei, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
