NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Nelson Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Education Reserve in Nelson Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 21st October, 1927.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Nelson, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Wednesday, the 14th day of December, 1927, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908, and amendments.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTIONS 93 and 94, Township of Black’s Point: Area, 24 perches. Upset annual rental, 6s. Term of lease, twenty-one years.

Abstract of Terms and Conditions of Sale.

  1. The highest bidder shall be the purchaser.
  2. One year’s rent at the rate offered, rent for broken period from date of sale to 31st December, 1927, and £2 2s. (lease fee) is payable on the fall of the hammer.
  3. Rent is payable yearly in advance on the 1st January in each and every year.
  4. Term of lease, twenty-one years from 1st January, 1927, with perpetual right of renewal for further successive terms of twenty-one years.
  5. Rent for renewed lease to be assessed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands or his agent.
  6. If lessee objects to rent of renewed lease the rental shall be determined by arbitration in manner provided by the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908, and amendments.
  7. Lessee shall pay all rates, taxes, and other assessments accruing on the said land.
  8. Lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of all noxious weeds, and shall with all reasonable despatch remove or cause to be removed all noxious weeds now growing upon the said land.
  9. Rent in arrear for a space of thirty days from due date shall bear a penalty of 10 per cent.
  10. Lessee shall not effect improvements without permission.
  11. No gravel shall be removed from the sections and lessee shall not carry on any noisome or noxious trade upon the said land.
  12. Violation of any of the conditions shall render the lease liable to forfeiture.

Reserves in Westland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Hokitika, 22nd October, 1927.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, at 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 30th day of November, 1927, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendments.

SCHEDULE.

WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.

RESERVE 794, Block VII, Waitaha Survey District: Area, 15 acres 2 roods 30 perches. Upset annual rental, £2 10s. Term of lease, twenty-one (21) years.

Situated near the mouth of the Waitaha River and comprising good river flat, partly covered with gorse and scrub.

Reserve 1500, Block I, Punakaiki Survey District: Area, 6 acres 2 roods 6 perches. Upset annual rental, £2.

Term of lease, fourteen (14) years.

Situated on the south side of the Porarari River, at Punakaiki, and comprise sandy dunes covered with lupins and gorse.

Terms and Conditions of Lease.

  1. A half-year’s rent at the rate bid, together with lease fee, twenty-one (21) shillings, to be paid on the fall of the hammer.
  2. Possession will be given on 1st January, 1928.
  3. The lease shall be for the term of years specified without the right of renewal, but shall be subject to termination on twelve month’s notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.
  4. The lessee shall not be entitled to compensation for any improvements effected by him on the land, nor for any other cause, but shall, at the end of the term or the earlier termination of the lease, be permitted to remove any buildings or fences erected by him during his tenancy.
  5. Rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance.
  6. The lessee shall not sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the land unless with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.
  7. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of noxious weeds.
  8. The lessee shall provide accommodation for travelling-stock when required at a charge of ½d. per head per day or portion thereof for sheep and 3d. per head per day or portion thereof for cattle.
  9. The lessee shall, within six months from the date of the lease, securely enclose the land with a stock-proof fence to the satisfaction of the Commissioner.
  10. The lessee shall discharge all rates, taxes, and other assessments that may become due and payable on the land.
  11. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions are violated.

Full conditions may be obtained from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Hokitika.
