IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Pro-
tection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Maui Pomare,
Acting Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby appoint
William McKenzie Fraser, of Whangarei,
to be a Ranger under the said Act, to exercise his duties for
the Hen, Poor Knights, and Chicken Islands.
As witness my hand at Wellington, this 5th day of October,

and Mining Registrar at Paeroa and Te Aroha for the Hauraki
Mining District, constituted under the Mining Act, 1926, as
from the 4th day of October, 1927.

Military Forces.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant R. E. B. Hopkirk, 8th Field Battery, N.Z.A., is
transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6.
Dated 26th September, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant G. G. Jackson is transferred from the 8th
Field Battery, N.Z.A., to the 19th Medium Battery, N.Z.A.,
with seniority as from the 29th May, 1925. Dated 26th
September, 1927.

THE N.Z. INFANTRY.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).
Lieutenant W. B. Stewart, 3rd C Battalion, is transferred to
the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Dated 26th September, 1927.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) J. W.
Fawcett, 3rd C Battalion, lapses. Dated 19th September,
1927.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand
Gazette No. 46 of 7th July relating to Lieutenant C. F. Sea-
ward, M.C., for the words “to be Lieutenant” read “to be
Captain.”

The North Auckland Regiment.
Captain H. E. G. Smith, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the
Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 3. Dated 26th Sep-
tember, 1927.

The Waikato Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant G. F. Pryce, 1st Battalion, is transferred to
the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Dated 19th September, 1927.

The Wellington Regiment.
Captain C. W. H. Ronaldson, 1st Battalion, is transferred to
the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 22nd
September, 1927.
