Opening Settlement Land in Auckland Land District for Selection.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Tauranga County.—Ohauiti Settlement.
SECTION 22: Area, 371 acres. Capital value, £530. Half-yearly rent, £13 5s.
Situated eleven miles from Tauranga Railway-station and three miles from Ohauiti School. Undulating to broken country. About 100 acres worn-out pasture; balance unimproved, in fern and tea-tree. Watered by creeks and springs. Subdivided into six paddocks. Ragwort spreading. Suitable for grazing.
The improvements, included in the capital value, comprise four-roomed and three-roomed houses, both unlined, and 6-bail cowshed (all in bad state of repair), 60 chains road boundary, half-share 280 chains of boundary, and 100 chains of subdivisional fencing, and old pasture; Total value, £345.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and sixty-one of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the land described in the Schedule hereto for disposal under the section of the Act mentioned.

Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces amended.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five; and I do hereby declare that the amendments hereby made shall take effect as from date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
FINANCIAL INSTRUCTIONS AND ALLOWANCE REGULATIONS FOR THE NEW ZEALAND MILITARY FORCES.
- INSERT new paragraphs as follows :—
"121A. The following shall be the rates of pay in the N.Z. Air Force :-
Cadets ... ... ... ... ... 5s. per day.
"121B. Officers and Cadets of the N.Z. Air Force who are employed on regular flying duties shall receive a flying allowance as follows :-
Officers ... ... ... ... ... 10s. per day.
Cadets ... ... ... ... ... 5s. "
"121c. Officers and cadets of the N.Z. Air Force who are required in the course of their duty to make casual flights shall receive a flying allowance as follows:-
Officers ... ... ... ... ... 10s. } For each day on which
Cadets ... ... ... ... ... 5s. } such a flight is made."

Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, 1927, amended. -Amendments No. 4.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Defence Acc, 1909, and its amendments, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto the Regulations for the Military Forces of the Dominion of New Zealand, published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven; and I do hereby declare that the amendments hereby made shall take effect as from date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
REGULATIONS FOR THE MILITARY FORCES OF THE DOMINION OF NEW ZEALAND.
INSERT new paragraphs as follows:-
"283A. The N.Z. Air Force shall be recruited from selected men from the Territorial Force ; but, unless otherwise specially provided, such men shall have the same liability for service as other members of the Territorial Force.
"149A. Officers of the N.Z. Air Force will normally be transferred to the Reserve of Officers on the completion of five years' commissioned service."

Appointment of Members of Medical Council under Medical Practitioners Act, 1914.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of the Medical Practitioners Act, 1914, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby reappoint William Irving, M.D., Camb., M.R.C.S.E., L.R.C.P., Lond. William Newlands, M.B., B.S., Univ. Edin., F.R.C.S., Lond., and William Henry Parkes, M.D., Edin., F.R.C.S., Edin., M.R.C.P. Lond., to be members of the Medical Council under the aforesaid Act.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 4th day of October, 1927.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the the Peace Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that Duncan Norman White, being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at Hawarden, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
