Amending Regulations under the Motor-omnibus Traffic Act, 1926, relating to Motor-omnibuses.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of October, 1927.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section eighteen of the Motor-omnibus Traffic Act, 1926 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations by way of amendment to the Motor-omnibus (Constructional) Regulations, 1926.

REGULATIONS.

  1. THESE regulations may be cited as the Motor-omnibus (Constructional) Amending Regulations, 1927.

  2. Clause 5 of Regulation 35 of the Motor-omnibus (Constructional) Regulations, 1926, and subclause (b) of clause 8 of the Motor-omnibus (Supplementary) Regulations, 1927, are hereby revoked, and the following clause is substituted for the said clause 5 of Regulation 35:--

“35. (5) Every motor-omnibus with seating-accommodation for fifteen passengers or more shall have a wheel-track of not less than 56 in. for any axle fitted with single wheels, and not less than 60 in. for any axle fitted with twin wheels.”

  1. Subclause (1) of Regulation 5 of the Motor-Omnibus (Constructional) Regulations, 1926, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following words: “and may extend such exemption so that it may be applied at the discretion of the Inspecting Engineer to all motor-omnibuses of the same make and model plying under similar conditions.”

Authorizing the Purchase by the South Canterbury Electric-power Board of certain Electric Works, the Property of the Mackenzie County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of October, 1927.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the purchase by the South Canterbury Electric-power Board (hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), duly constituted under the provisions of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, of electric works, the property of the Councillors and Inhabitants of the Mackenzie County (hereinafter referred to as "the county"), referred to in a certain agreement bearing date the fifth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and made between the county of the one part and the Board of the other part, subject to the condition that such purchase be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the said agreement, so far as the same relates to the purchase of electric works.

Consenting to stopping Portion of Road in Block XII, Uawa Survey District, Uawa County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of October, 1927.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Uawa County Council stopping the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped : 2 acres 3 roods 38 perches.

Adjoining Lot 64, Pare mata Block, situated in Block XII, Uawa Survey District (Gisborne R.D.). (S.O. 1291, brown,)

In the Gisborne Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 69743, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Declaring a Road in the Borough of Lower Hutt to be under the Control and Management of the Lower Hutt Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of October, 1927.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be under the control and management of the Lower Hutt Borough Council.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road dealt with : 20·64 perches.

Being portion of the bed of the Waiwetu Stream, being portion of Sections 23 and 27.

Situated in Block XIV, Belmont Survey District (Hutt R.D.). (S.O. 256/l.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 70026, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured sienna and bordered red.

Recreation Reserve in Canterbury Land District brought under Part II of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of October, 1927.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-sixth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the same is hereby brought under the operation of, and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act ; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Hanmer Springs Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

RESERVE No. 4173, Block I, Lyndon Survey District : Area, 22 acres l rood 18 perches.
