Lieutenant A. B. Fordyce, from the 4th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Waikato), to be Lieutenant, and is attached to the 1st Battalion, under the provisions of paragraph 141, General Regulations, 1927. Dated 30th August, 1927.

The Wellington Regiment.
Lieutenant F. E. Dornwell, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 12th August, 1927.
2nd Lieutenant F. J. Platts-Mills ceases to be seconded to the 1st C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 9th February, 1927.

William Vernon Hobin to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 31st August, 1927.

The Canterbury Regiment.
The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) are confirmed:—

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Major F. J. Borrie, M.R.C.S., Eng., is appointed Deputy Assistant Director of Medical Services, Southern Command. Dated 19th August, 1927.
Harold Braithwaite Lange, M.B., to be Lieutenant, and is attached for duty to the 9th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (North Auckland). Dated 5th September, 1927.
Quartermaster and Lieutenant J. C. White resigns his commission. Dated 2nd September, 1927.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend G. E. Brown, Chaplain 4th Class, is transferred from R.D. 5 to R.D. 9. Dated 1st September, 1927.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.
Taranaki Regiment.
The undermentioned are posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain their rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 31st August, 1927.

Notice respecting Proposed Borough at Martinborough.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 15th September, 1927.

PURSUANT to section 131 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, it is hereby notified that a petition in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fifth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, praying that the said area may be constituted a borough under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.
PROPOSED BOROUGH OF MARTINBOROUGH.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 667 on plan 586, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, and proceeding thence along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 667 to its north-eastern corner; thence along the south-western, south-eastern, and north-eastern boundaries of Lot 723 on plan 586 aforesaid to the north-western corner of Lot 674 on the said plan 586; thence north-easterly along the north-western boundary of the said Lot 674 and its production to the middle of the Huarangara Road; thence south-easterly along the middle of Huarangara Road and Puruatanga Road to its intersection with the middle-line of Regent Street; thence south-westerly along the middle of Regent Street to the middle-line of the public road forming the south-western boundary of Lots 763, 764, and 765 on plan 250, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington; thence south-easterly along that street to the middle of the street forming the south-eastern boundary of Lots 730, 736, 735, 741, and 742; thence south-westerly along that street to the middle of Dublin Street; thence north-westerly along the middle of Dublin Street to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Lot 759 on plan 250 aforesaid; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundaries of Lots 759, 760, 761, and 762 on the said plan 250, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned lot; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of Lot 758, plan 250 aforesaid, and its production across Regent Street and Jellicoe Street and along the south-western boundary of Part Section 3, Wharekaka Registration Block, to a point in line with the production of the north-western side of Ferry Road; thence along that line and its production to the north-western corner of Weld Street; thence north-westerly along a right line, being the production of the south-western side of Weld Street, to a point in the north-western boundary of the said part Section 3; thence north-easterly along the said north-western boundary and its production to the south-western side of Kitchener Street; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Lot 667 on plan 586, the point of commencement.
