ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District, containing by admeasurement 243 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Lot 2 of Section 2 on plan deposited in the Lands Office, Gisborne, under No. C.P. 3258, and being part of Section 2, Block III, Urutawa Survey District; as the same is delineated on plan marked L. and S. 4/197, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Notifying Land in Gisborne Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SECTION 43: Area, 2 acres. Upset price, £120.

Opening Settlement Land in Marlborough Land District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Kaikoura County.—Hundalee Survey District.—Goat Hills Settlement.
SECTIONS 4s and 5s, Block VII: Area, 1,485 acres 2 roods 24 perches. Capital value, £2,250. Half-yearly rent, £56 5s. Weighted with £700, valuation for improvements comprising two-roomed cottage, whare, woolshed and yards, and fencing, to be paid in cash or on the following terms: Cash £200, and balance by twenty half-yearly instalments of £32 7s. 6d., payable with half-yearly rent on 1st day of January and 1st day of July until the number of instalments have been paid. Goat Hills Settlement is situate about twenty-five miles from Kaikoura, and is about the same distance from Waiau Railway-station. The access to Sections 4s and 5s is about thirty miles from Kaikoura by main inland road and Stag and Spey Road from Charwell Forks. Area comprises flat and easy open country covered with native grass, tussock. About 300 to 400 acres in manuka scrub. Soil fair, on papa and shingle formation. Well watered by permanent streams. Fencing to the value of £100 is included in the value of the land.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Levin Borough Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Levin Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
WAIOPEHU SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 22 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 43 and part of Section 44, Block II, Waiopehu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Horowhenua East Road from the easternmost corner of Section 41 to Koputuroa Road; thence towards the south-east by Koputuroa Road, 594·3 links; thence towards the south-west by a right line bearing 299° 13′ 47″, distance 1009·6 links; thence again towards the south-east and south-west by the other part of Section 44; and towards the north-west by Section 41 to Horowhenua East Road, the place of commencement; be all the aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/453, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section seventeen of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Alexander Browning Lang, of Hampden, to be the representative on the Waitaki Electric-power Board, of the Hampden Borough which is a constituent district of the Waitaki Electric-power District.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 1st day of September, 1927.

Warrant apportioning the Cost of maintaining Portion of Page’s Road, in the Heathcote County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by sections one hundred and nine and one hundred and twenty of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in that behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the cost of maintaining the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall be borne by the Christchurch City Council, the New Brighton Borough Council, and the Heathcote County Council in the following proportions—viz.: The Christchurch City Council shall pay thirty-five per centum, the New Brighton Borough Council shall pay forty-two and a half per centum, and the Heathcote County Council shall pay twenty-two and a half per centum of such cost respectively :
