In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and their amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the City of
Wellington proposes, under the provisions of the
above-named Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it
in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely,
for recreation purposes, Everton Terrace, in the City of
Wellington—and for the purposes of such public work the
land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken :
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so
required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the
Town Clerk to the said Council, in the Town Hall, Cuba
Street, in the said city, and is there open for inspection
without fee, by all persons during ordinary office hours, and
that all persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing within forty days from the first publica-
tion of this notice to the Wellington City Council, addressed
to the Town Clerk at his said office.

firm of “ Blair and Sellar,” has been dissolved by mutual

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Relief of Unemployment Loan of not exceeding £25,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of not exceeding twenty-five thousand
pounds (£25,000) authorized to be raised by the Christchurch
City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the following
public works to be undertaken for the relief of unemployment—
namely, the forming, widening, regrading, reconstructing, tar-
sealing, or laying in concrete certain streets within the bound-
ary of the City of Christchurch—as shown on the Schedule
prepared by the City Engineer, and dated the 18th of July,
1927, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of twenty-six thousand five hundred and
ninety-one three hundred and twelve thousand five hundredths
(26591/312500ths) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property, comprising the whole of the City of Christchurch,
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the 1st day of September in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of not exceeding thirteen
(13) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
