Primary-education Endowment Land in Block I, Wyndham Survey District, Southland Land District, set apart as a Site for a Public School.

WHEREAS by section five of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1911, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the district in which are situated any reserves or endowments vested in the Crown by or in pursuance of section two of the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, set apart as sites for public schools, secondary schools, or technical schools any part of such reserve or endowment :

And whereas the Land Board of the Southland Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto should be set apart as a site for a public school, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation :

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Acts aforesaid, do hereby set apart the primary-education endowment described in the Schedule hereto as a site for a public school (Mimihau).


SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Section 17, Block I, Wyndham Survey District: Area, 10 acres 0 roods 3 perches, more or less.

Opening Land in the North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Manukau County.—Otai Parish.

SECTIONS 26, 27, 30, Lot 1 of 81, and Lots 2 and 3 of Sections 81 and 86: Total area, 1,367 acres 0 roods 16 perches. Capital value, £2,365.

Deposit on deferred payments, £115. Half-yearly instalment, £73 2s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £59 2s. 6d.

Special Conditions.

(1) The successful applicant will be required to take over Section 28, Otai Parish, containing 254 acres, at a capital value of £635. Deposit £35, balance to remain on mortgage for 34½ years; interest, 5 per cent. to New Zealand discharged soldiers and 5½ per cent. to civilians.

(2) The purchaser to be liable for all costs of, and incidental to, the preparation and registration of mortgage.

(3) The purchaser of Section 28 shall have no right to acquire the freehold thereof unless he shall at the same time acquire the freehold of the balance of the property.

(4) Similarly, the licensee of Sections 26, 27, 30, and Lots 1, 2, and 3 of 81 and 86 shall have no right to acquire the freehold of these sections unless he at the same time acquires the freehold of Section 28.

Description.

Situated sixteen miles from Papakura Railway-station, eight miles from Clevedon No. 2 School, and nine miles from Clevedon Dairy Factory. The land is suitable for sheep-farming and grazing. Country hilly and broken; well watered by permanent streams. Approximately 950 acres worn out pasture, balance reverting to fern. Fencing requires attention. This property could be greatly improved by burning and top-dressing.

On Section 28 there is a well built 7-roomed house, timber being mostly heart of kauri and totara. A few repairs are necessary to put this house in first-class order. It is in a good position as homestead for the farm. Buildings also include a cowshed and woolshed, both in poor order.

Warrant vesting the Control of the Oparau Bridge No. 2, on the Oparau Block Road, in the Kawhia County Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the bridge over the Oparau Stream on the Oparau Block Road (as more particularly described in the Schedule hereto) shall, on and after the date of the gazetting hereof, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Kawhia County Council.


SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge in the Auckland Land District over the Oparau Stream, on the Oparau Block Road, known as Oparau Bridge No. 2, situated near the south-western corner of Section 2A, Block VIII, Kawhia North Survey District. As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 68925, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

PURSUANT to the authority vested in me by section sixty-five of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and by an Order in Council of the twenty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, establishing, inter alia, an Island Council for the Island of Aitutaki, in the Cook Islands, and determining the constitution thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby nominate and appoint

Tamu Paniani, of the district of Amuri,

to be a member of the said Island Council of Aitutaki in lieu of Tini, resigned, to hold office during my pleasure as from the date hereof.
