Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of July, 1927.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

WHEREAS each of the local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto has obtained, in terms of section fourteen of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, exemption from the requirements of that Act in respect of the loans mentioned in the said Schedule:

And whereas application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the said local authorities to borrow the sums set out in the said Schedule, and it is expedient that such precedent consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.

Franklin County Council, for forming and metalling a portion of the Waiau Pa to Papakura Road .. £ 1,250
Invercargill Borough Council, for the formation, construction, and improvement of streets .. 60,000
Invercargill Borough Council, for the erection of a house and other improvements at Pilot Station, New River Heads .. 1,500

The Western Side of Portion of Holloway Road, in the City of Wellington, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of July, 1927.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Wellington City Council on the seventeenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, the portion of street affected by such resolution being more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, viz. :

"The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the western side of all that portion of Holloway Road beginning at a point approximately 301·88 links from the junction of Pilcher’s Road and extending for a distance of 388·4 links, being portion of road fronting part 10, Ohir0 Registration District, and as more particularly delineated in Deeds Title, Vol. 262, folio 323, in office of District Land Registrar, Wellington";

subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the land fronting the western side of the portion of Holloway Road (described in the Schedule hereto), within a distance of twenty-five feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.


SCHEDULE.

THE western side of all that portion of street, situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Holloway Road, abutting on part Section 10, Ohir0 Registration District. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 68743, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Town of West Clive, Hawke’s Bay Land District.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart as a reserve for a mechanic’s institute, being a purpose within Class I of the Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908:

And whereas it is expedient that such land should be appropriated for recreation purposes, being a purpose within Class III of the said Second Schedule:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the twentieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, be appropriated for recreation purposes under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 64, Town of West Clive: Area, 1 rood.

Notifying Land in Taranaki Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
