Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

STAFF.

Captain M. E. Johnson, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 4A, and is appointed Adjutant, 3rd N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Auckland), and retains the appointment of Adjutant, 4th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Waikato). Dated 16th May, 1927.

The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 33, of 26th May, 1927, relative to Captain G. Dittmer, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, is cancelled, and the following substituted :—

“Captain G. Dittmer, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 4B, Pukekohe, and Adjutant, 3rd N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Auckland), as from 11th March, 1927, and is appointed Area Officer, Area 4A, Adjutant, 1st Battalion, Waikato Regiment. Dated 16th May, 1927.”

Lieutenant E. R. V. Petrie, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 5A, Lower Hutt, and is appointed Area Officer 5B, with headquarters at Lower Hutt. Dated 1st July, 1927.

N.Z. PERMANENT AIR FORCE.

Captain T. M. Wilkes, M.C., is granted the temporary rank of Major. Dated 31st January, 1926.

8TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NELSON).

2nd Lieutenant R. R. McGregor (Retired List) to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 20th June, 1927.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant-Colonel N. Falla, C.M.G., D.S.O., A.D.C., relinquishes command of the 2nd Field Brigade, and is appointed to command the Central Coast Artillery Group. Dated 11th June, 1927.

Major G. Lyons, M.C., to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed to command the 2nd Field Brigade. Dated 12th June, 1927.

Lieutenant F. M. Mitchell, 9th Field Battery, N.Z.A., to be Captain. Dated 20th June, 1927.

Keith Mills to be 2nd Lieutenant, 13th Coast Battery, N.Z.A. Dated 24th December, 1926.

THE CORPS OF N.Z. ENGINEERS.

Southern Depot.

2nd Lieutenant C. H. Beach, from the Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 25th June, 1927.

THE N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).

Lieutenant-Colonel E. G. Fraser relinquishes command of the Regiment, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 1. Dated 21st June, 1926.

Lieutenant C. F. Seaward, M.C. (Retired List), to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 17th June, 1927.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 23rd June, 1927 :—
