SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—KERMADec ISLANDS.

Raoul, or Sunday Island, now uninhabited.
Previous notice: No. 73 of 1926.
Position: Lat., 29° 15′ S; long., 177° 57′ W (approx.).
Details: There are now no human inhabitants residing on Sunday Island.

Notice to Mariners No. 35 of 1927.
NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—HAURAKI GULF.—RIVER THAMES.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 30th May, 1927.
(1) Harbour lighted leading beacon;
(2) Eastern tidal wall lighted beacon in course of erection;
(3) Western tidal wall light proposed.
Position: Lat. 37° 08′ S.; long. 175° 32′ E. (approx.).
Details: (1) A four-pile beacon, having a black and white surmount, is in course of erection on the southern portion of the tidal wall embracing the tidal basin now under construction. When completed, this beacon will show a flashing white light over the entrance channel to the tidal basin. (2) A four-pile beacon, having a black surmount, is in course of erection at the outer end of the eastern tidal wall. When complete, this beacon will show a fixed green light. (3) It is proposed to install a four-pile beacon, having a red surmount and showing a fixed red light, at the outer end of the western tidal wall.
Remarks: The harbour-improvement scheme, providing for an enclosed tidal basin and an entrance channel to be dredged to a depth of 6 ft. at M.L.W.S. is now being proceeded with.
Further notice: Further notice concerning characteristics, &c., of these lights will be given.

Notice to Mariners No. 36 of 1927.
NEW ZEALAND.—SOUTH ISLAND.—FOVEAUX STRAIT.—BLUFF HARBOUR.

No. 3 Lighted Beacon replaced and Temporary Buoy withdrawn.
Previous notice: No. 67 of 1926.
Position: Lat., 46° 37′ S.; long., 168° 20′ E. (approx.).
Details: No. 3 lighted beacon, which was destroyed as the result of a collision in November, 1926, has been replaced, and the temporary red conical buoy which marked its position has been withdrawn.
