WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Waimarino County.—Whirinaki Survey District.
SECTION 2, Block VI: Area, 701 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £262. Deposit on deferred payments, £12; half-yearly instalment, £8 2s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 4s. 10d.

Weighted with £315, valuation for improvements consisting of fencing and an old whare, payable in cash.

This property is situated in the Waimarino County, thirty-two miles from Raetihi and six miles from the Wanganui River. Access is from Raetihi by twenty-nine miles of formed dray-road and three miles of horse-track. Comprises rough hilly country, with 350 acres still in bush. 150 acres are at present in pasture of poor quality, while the remaining 200 acres have been felled and grassed, but reverted to second growth and fern. Watered by streams and springs.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Waimarino County.—Manganui Survey District.
Section 5, Block XV: Area, 194 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £490. Deposit on deferred payments, £25; half-yearly instalment £15 2s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £9 16s.

Weighted with £27 15s., valuation for fencing, payable in cash.

Situated at the head-waters of the Orautoha Stream, about six miles from the Raetihi Railway-station by formed dray-road. Comprises level to easy undulating land, recently milled. Sufficient timber left for fencing. Section is well watered by permanent streams. Altitude, 1,700 ft. to 1,750 ft.

Opening Land in Wellington Land District for Sale or Selection.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendment thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:—

  1. The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the price specified in the said Schedule, and shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

  2. The said land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

  3. After the first half-year’s rent or the deposit fixed under deferred payments, as the case may be, has been paid by the selector, the further instalments of rent or such part of the aforesaid instalments as consist of interest payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded:

Provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land, the rent or interest so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent or interest payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.

SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
(Exempt from Payment of Rent or Interest for Four Years.)

Kiwitea County.—Umutoi Survey District.
SECTIONS 26, 27, and 28, Block I: Area, 615 acres 3 roods 3 perches. Capital value, £350. Deposit on deferred payments, £15; half-yearly instalment, £10 17s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £7.

Weighted with £250, valuation for improvements (100 acres felled and grassed), payable in cash.

These sections are situated in the Onslow Block at the foot of the Ruahine Ranges. Access is from Rangiwahia, which is seven miles and a half distant by formed and metalled road. There is an area of about 20 acres of flat land on Section 26, suitable for a homestead-site. The remainder is hilly and mostly covered by heavy fallen timber, excepting about 100 acres which have been felled and grassed. There are no buildings and no fencing. Section is permanently watered. Altitude, 1,500 ft. to 2,500 ft.

Warrant vesting the Control of the Oparau Bridge No. 3, on the Frankton-Kawhia Road, in the Kawhia County Council.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that the bridge over the Oparau Stream on the Frankton-Kawhia Road (as more particularly described in the Schedule hereto) shall, on and after the date of the gazetting hereof, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Kawhia County Council.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge in the Auckland Land District over the Oparau Stream on the Frankton-Kawhia Road known as Oparau Bridge No. 3, situated near the south-western corner of Section 1, Block I, Pirongia Survey District. As the site of the said bridge is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 68924, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 1st day of June, 1927.

Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces amended.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority conferred on me by the Defence Act, 1909, and its amendments, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend in the manner and to the extent set forth in the Schedule hereto the Financial Instructions and Allowance Regulations for the New Zealand Military Forces, published in the New Zealand Gazette dated the sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five; and I do hereby declare that the amendments hereby made shall take effect as from the date of publication thereof in the Gazette.
