SCHEDULE.

FINANCIAL INSTRUCTIONS AND ALLOWANCE REGULATIONS.

Pay of W.O.s, N.C.O.s, and Men.

  1. PARAGRAPH 46, as amended by the New Zealand Gazette dated 19th November, 1925, is hereby revoked, and the following substituted :—
    “ 46. The following shall be the daily rates of pay for warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the New Zealand Permanent Staff and permanent members of the New Zealand Permanent Army Service Corps :—
Rank. Pay per Diem.
Single. Married.

Warrant Officer, Class I—
Minimum 18 4 20 0
After 2 years 18 10 20 6
After 4 years 19 4 21 0
Warrant Officer, Class II 17 10 19 6
Staff Sergeant 16 4 18 0

Corporal 13 4 14 10
Private 12 0 12 0

“ Temporary personnel of the N.Z. Permanent Staff will be paid 1s. a day less than the above rates.”

  1. The following additional regulation is hereby made :—
    “ 46A. (i) A non-commissioned officer who, on the coming into force of this regulation, was holding the rank of staff sergeant instructor will continue to draw pay at the rate of 16s. 4d. per diem if single, or 18s. per diem if married, while holding such rank.
    (ii) A non-commissioned officer who, on the coming into force of this regulation, was holding the rank of staff sergeant will not be eligible to draw the new rate of pay for staff sergeant as prescribed by paragraph 46 of these regulations, but will continue to draw pay at the rate of 15s. per diem if single, or 16s. 6d. per diem if married, until he has served for three years in that rank, has passed the examination at present prescribed for promotion to staff sergeant instructor, and has been recommended for the higher rate of pay prescribed by paragraph 46.”

Medical Officers and Veterinary Officers.

Paragraph 127, as published in the New Zealand Gazette dated 12th November, 1925, is hereby amended by adding the following at the end of the paragraph :—
“ Veterinary officers who are civilian practitioners, when called into camps of continuous training, or courses of instruction, for the specific purpose of attending to sick or injured animals, and not for the purpose of carrying out their obligatory training, will be entitled to fees as follows :—
(a) £2 2s. per diem of twenty-four hours continuously.
(b) £1 1s. per diem for periods of less than twenty-four hours.”

Appointing a Member of the Waitara Harbour Board.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection three of section thirty-eight of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of a non-elective member of a Harbour Board, the Governor-General shall, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place :
And whereas George Ernest Wills, a non-elective member of the Waitara Harbour Board, has resigned his office, and an extraordinary vacancy in the membership of the Board has been created, and it is desirable to appoint a qualified person in his place :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, doth hereby appoint

William Roberts Johns

to be a member of the Waitara Harbour Board, in the place of the said George Ernest Wills, resigned.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 28th day of May, 1927.

Postmaster appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand do hereby notify and declare that the person set out in the Schedule hereto, being a person holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the place set opposite his name in the said Schedule, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
