SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

SECTIONS 34, 35, 36, and 70, Block I, Leaning Rock Survey District: Area, 36 acres 1 rood 35 perches. Capital value, £75. Deferred payments: Deposit, £3 15s.; half-yearly instalment, £2 6s. 4d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 10s.

Level land of good quality, on Waikirikiri Flat, near Clyde. Not watered. Unimproved.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS.

  1. The right is reserved to the Crown at any time and from time to time, without being deemed to commit a trespass and without payment of compensation, to enter upon the said land and thereon to take, lay, construct, maintain, inspect, repair, or reconstruct water-races, drains, and all other works which the Minister of Public Works deems necessary for the supply of water to the said land, or to any other land.

  2. The successful applicants will be required to take water from races provided for irrigation purposes, at a price to be fixed by the Crown.

  3. The Crown will not be liable for any damage caused by any overflow or break-away of any race or channel.

Declaring Land in the Otago Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and five of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and shall hereafter form part of the Westcott Settlement.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District containing by admeasurement 2 acres 0 roods 15 perches, more or less, being closed road Section 1283r, Westcott Settlement, and bounded as follows: Towards the north generally by Section 1s, Westcott Settlement, 2185·4 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 177 links; towards the south generally by Section 16s, Westcott Settlement, 2010·1 links; and towards the south-west by Section 17s, Westcott Settlement, 104·9 links: Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of April, 1927.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of a Reserve in the Town of Winton, Southland Land District.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve set duly apart for Post and Telegraph purposes, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserve:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a reserve for Post and Telegraph purposes to a reserve for public buildings of the General Government. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.

SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 1, Block I, Town of Winton: Area, 1 rood 8 perches.

Cancelling the Appointment of the Chairman of the Main Highways Board and appointing another Member to be Chairman of the said Board.

WHEREAS by Warrant dated the nineteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette number seventeen of the twenty-fifth day of the same month, the appointment of Frederick William Furkert, Esquire, of Wellington, Engineer-in-Chief and Under-Secretary of the Public Works Department, as Chairman of the Main Highways Board was cancelled, and Charles John McKenzie, member of the Main Highways Board, was appointed in his stead:

And whereas the said Frederick William Furkert has returned to New Zealand, and it is considered expedient to reappoint him as Chairman of the said Board:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby cancel the appointment of the said Charles John McKenzie as Chairman of the Main Highways Board, and I do hereby appoint the said Frederick William Furkert to be Chairman of the said Board.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 26th day of April, 1927.

Warrant authorizing the Raetihi Borough Council to construct a Bridge over the Makotuku Stream, at Raetihi (together with Approaches thereto), and apportioning the Cost.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section one hundred and nineteen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby authorize the Raetihi Borough Council to construct the bridge (together with approaches thereto) described in the Schedule hereto; and I do also declare that the cost thereof, less such contribution (if any) as may be made thereto by the Government of New Zealand, shall be borne by the Raetihi Borough Council and the Waimarino County Council in the following proportions, viz.: The Raetihi Borough Council shall pay fifty-two per centum and the Waimarino County Council shall pay forty-eight per centum of such cost respectively; and I do further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Waimarino County Council shall be paid from time to time, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed, out of the funds of the said Council within a period of one month after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Raetihi Borough Council; and all such payments shall be made from time to time to the Town Clerk, Raetihi, for and on behalf of the said Council.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge in the Wellington Land District, Borough of Raetihi, over the Makotuku Stream (together with approaches thereto). As the site of the said bridge and approaches is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 66510, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District.
