Revoking the Naturalization of Jure Prodan.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 26th day of April, 1927.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS letters of naturalization were issued to Jure Prodan on the thirtieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and five, and such letters of naturalization enure for the purposes of the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923, as a certificate of naturalization under that Act:

And whereas the Governor-General in Council is satisfied that it is advisable, for special reasons affecting the said Jure Prodan, the naturalization of the said Jure Prodan should be revoked:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the said letters of naturalization, and hereby declare that the naturalization of the said Jure Prodan shall be revoked, and that the said Jure Prodan shall cease to be a British subject naturalized in New Zealand as on and from the twenty-sixth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven.

Declaring a certain Area to be a Sanctuary under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, Otago Acclimatization District.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area, except pursuant to an authority granted under section thirty-one or section thirty-two of the said Act; nor shall any person, except under such conditions as may from time to time be prescribed by the Minister, take any dog or firearm into such area, or discharge any firearm or explosive in such area, or do anything likely to cause any imported game or native game to leave such area.

SCHEDULE.

AREA DECLARED TO BE A SANCTUARY.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District being the lagoon situated on the property of Mr. James Smith, being part Sections 8, 9, and 10, Block XII, North Molyneux Survey District.

Carunculated Shag absolutely protected.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section three of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that from and after the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, the bird known as the carunculated shag (phalacrocorax carunculatus) shall be deemed to be included in the First Schedule of the said Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of April, 1927.

Opening Land in the Otago Land District for Sale or Selection.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Clutha County.—Tautuku Survey District.

SECTION 16, Block XII: Area, 141 acres 0 roods 26 perches. Capital value, £55. Deferred payments: Deposit, £2 15s.; half-yearly rent, £1 14s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 2s.

Situated twelve miles from MacLennan Railway-station and three miles from Chaslands. Access from Catlins-Waikawa Road. No improvements. Fairly poor land. Bush of poor quality, mostly khamai. No millable timber. Watered by streams.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 25th day of March, 1927.
