INVERCARGILL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS STRIKING SPECIAL RATES.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Invercargill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :

Waterworks and Endowments Redemption Loan (1927) of £10,300.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,300, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for paying off the Waterworks Loan (1919) of £8,300 and the Endowments Loan (1919) of £2,000 both falling due on the 1st day of April, 1927, the said Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal one three nought (0·130d.) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period as prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Gasworks (1927) Redemption Loan of £15,000.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £15,000, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for paying off the Gasworks Loan (1914) of £15,000, falling due on 1st April, 1927, the said Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal one eight eight of a penny (0·188d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period as prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council, or until the loan is fully paid off.

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

I N pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows :

Loan of £70,000.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £70,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Act, and known as "The Auckland Filtration Plants Loan £70,000, 1927," the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅝d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-three years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £19,000.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £19,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Act, and known as "The Streets Improvement Loan (£190,000) Additional," the said City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth (⅙th) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the City of Auckland, and such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-three years, or until the loan is fully paid up.

TIMARU BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, section 19, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Timaru Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :

Loan of £5,000.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on an additional ten-per-cent. loan of £5,000 (to be known as the Timaru Borough Ten-per-cent. Additional Electric-power and Light No. 4 Loan of £5,000), authorized to be raised by the Timaru Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing extra plant, buildings, and reticulations, and converting the system from direct to alternating current, and generally for improving and extending the borough electrical installation, and for other purposes in relation thereof prescribed by the said Acts, or any of them, the said Timaru Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-hundredths (7/100) of a penny in the pound sterling upon the unimproved value of all rateable property of the Borough of Timaru, comprising the whole of the Borough of Timaru, and this Council resolves that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, as from the 1st April, 1927, and shall, without further proceedings by the said Council be payable yearly on the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of four years and a half or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £3,100.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on an additional ten-per-cent. loan of £3,100 (to be known as the Timaru Borough Ten-per-cent. Additional Waterworks (No. 6) Loan, £3,100), authorized to be raised by the Timaru Borough Council under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of improving and extending the borough waterworks and water-supply, and for other purposes in relation thereto prescribed by the said Act, or either of them, the said Timaru Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-hundredths (3/100) of a penny in the pound sterling upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Timaru, comprising the whole of the Borough of Timaru, and this Council resolves that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, as from the 1st day of April, 1927, and shall, without further proceedings by the said Council, be payable yearly on the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That His Worship the Mayor and the Town Clerk, and each of them, be authorized to take all necessary steps and to sign all documents including the Gazette notice for giving full effect to the foregoing.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Tauranga County Council hereby resolves as follows :

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,800, authorized to be raised by the Tauranga County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of-

(a) Metalling the Tauranga-Matamata Highway from the junction of Pyes Pa Road to the Ruehihi Bridge;

(b) Paying the first year's interest and sinking fund and cost of raising the loan;

the said Tauranga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 37d. in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Tauriko Special-rating Area of the County of Tauranga, comprising the whole of the said Tauriko Special-rating Area, bounded on the north commencing at the north-west corner of Lot 83A of the Parish of Te Papa where it joins the Tauranga-Matamata Road; thence along the north-east boundary of Lot 83A to its junction with the Kopurererua Stream; thence on the east generally by the western bank of the Kopurererua Stream to the south-east corner of Lot 203, Parish of Te Papa; thence on the south generally along the southern boundaries of Lots 203, 190, and 171, to the north-east corner of Lot 473; thence on the east again by the eastern boundaries of Lots 473, 472, 474, 481, 482, 494, 497, 514, 350, and 582, to the south-east corner of Lot 582; thence on the south by the southern boundaries of Lots 582, 548, 347, 346, 68, and 345, to the east bank of the Mangapapa River to the south-west corner of Lot 345; thence on the west generally by the east bank of the Mangapapa or Wairoa River to the north-west corner of Lot 73 of the Parish of Te Papa; thence on the north by the northern boundary of Lot 73 to the point of commencement on the Tauranga-Matamata Road: And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
