Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the Borough of
Sumner of a Width of less than 66 ft. but not less than 40 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of
April, 1927.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Sumner
Borough Council to permit the laying-off of the street de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto of a width less than sixty-six
feet but not less than forty feet, it being difficult and inex-
pedient to lay off such street of a width of sixty-six feet.
SCHEDULE.
THAT street in the Canterbury Land District, Borough of
Sumner, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 20 perches,
more or less, being part R.S. 204, and connecting Ocean View
Terrace (formerly known as Government Road) with Heber-
den Avenue at its junction with the Sumner-Lyttelton Road.
As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 68267, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land Dis-
trict, and thereon coloured green.

Authorizing the Purchase by the Southland Electric-power
Board of certain Electric Works, the Property of the Gore
Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of
April, 1927.

His Excellency The Governor-General in Council.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section seventy-six of the Electric-power Boards Act,
1925, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that
behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
authorize the purchase by the Southland Electric-power
Board (hereinafter referred to as "the Board"), duly con-
stiuted under the provisions of the Electric-power Boards
Act, 1918, of electric works, the property of the Mayor,
Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Gore (herein-
after referred to as "the borough"), referred to in a certain
agreement bearing date the thirtieth day of March, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and made between
the borough of the one part and the Board of the other part,
subject to the condition that such purchase be carried out in
accordance with the provisions of the said agreement, so far
as the same relates to the purchase of electric works.

Boundaries of Borough of Otaki altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day
of March, 1927.
Present:
The Honourable W. Downie Stewart Presiding In
Council.
WHEREAS, in pursuance of section one hundred and
thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920,
a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying
that a certain area should be excluded from the Borough of
Otaki and included in the County of Horowhenua.
And whereas a Commission appointed under the said
section held inquiries and recommended that parts of the
said areaβviz., the areas described in the Schedule here-
toβbe excluded from the said borough.
And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alteration
of boundaries of the said borough recommended by the said
Commission, and to declare to what riding of the said county
such areas shall be added:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act,
1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-seven, the areas described in the
Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Otaki
and included in the County of Horowhenua; and, with the
like advice and consent, doth hereby further declare that as
on and from the aforesaid date the areas included as afore-
said in the County of Horowhenua shall be added to and form
part of the Otaki Riding of that county.
SCHEDULE.
AREAS EXCLUDED FROM BOROUGH OF OTAKI.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded on
the north by the northern boundary of the Borough of Otaki
from the north-eastern corner of Taumanuka 2A No. 2 Block
to the north-eastern corner of Lot 4 on plan 3364, deposited
in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington;
thence southerly, westerly, and south-westerly along the
eastern boundaries of Lot 4 aforesaid to a public road;
thence north-westerly along the northern side of that road
to the eastern boundary of the Taumanuka 2A No. 2 Block;
thence northerly along that boundary to the north-eastern
corner of Taumanuka 2A No. 2 Block, the point of commence-
ment.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District bounded
by a line commencing at the north-western corner of Lot 5
on plan 3364, deposited in the office of the District Land
Registrar at Wellington, and proceeding thence south-easterly
along the south-western side of the public road forming the
north-eastern boundaries of Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, on
plan 3364 aforesaid to the north-eastern corner of the said
Lot 11; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of Lot
11 aforesaid to its south-eastern corner; thence westerly
generally along the southern boundaries of Lots 11 and 8 on
plan 3364 aforesaid to the Maringiwai Stream; thence by
that stream to the south-western corner of Lot 5 aforesaid;
thence by the western boundary of that lot to its north-
western corner, the place of commencement.
