HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.
STAFF.
Major H. D. McHugh, M.C., N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Area Officer, Area 10c, Timaru, dated 3rd February, 1927, and is appointed Staff Officer-in-Charge, No. 12 Regimental District, Invercargill. Dated 1st March, 1927.
THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant F. J. Dillon, M.C. (Royal Artillery), is granted the local rank of Captain. Dated 20th October, 1926.
N.Z. ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS.
Captain (temp. Major) T. J. King to be Major. Dated 18th October, 1926.
Captain A. W. Baldwin is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 17th February, 1927.
6TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (MANAWATU).
Honorary Major S. Jickell is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of paragraph 126, G.R., 1913, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 1st March, 1927.
7TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (WELLINGTON EAST COAST).
2nd Lieutenant W. A. Knox resigns his commission. Dated 1st March, 1927.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.
Honorary Lieutenant and Bandmaster J. Trussell to be Honorary Captain and Bandmaster. Dated 2nd March, 1927.
The Canterbury Regiment.
Captain S. D. Mason, 1st Battalion, to be Major. Dated 7th March, 1927.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants.
C. E. Webster, 4th C Battalion. Dated 7th November, 1926.
C. L. Brock, 1st Battalion. Dated 12th November, 1926.
Honorary Lieutenant and Bandmaster E. W. R. Heald is transferred from the 4th C Battalion to the 5th C Battalion, with his original seniority. Dated 2nd March, 1927.
Henry George Glaysher to be Honorary Lieutenant and Bandmaster, 4th C Battalion. Dated 3rd March, 1927.
Alfred William George Lipscomb to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is seconded for duty with the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 8th March, 1927.
The Otago Regiment.
Thomas Donovan Holmes to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is seconded for duty with the 1st C Battalion. Dated 7th March, 1927.
The Southland Regiment.
Captain A. S. Hogg, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 12. Dated 28th February, 1927.
Captain W. G. Tweedy, M.B.E., is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 1st March, 1927.

Mr. Alfred Thomas Keegan to H.M.S. “Philomel” as Probationary Schoolmaster, N.Z.N.F., to date 26th January, 1927.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Whangaroa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

WHANGAROA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Whangaroa was taken on the 12th day of February, 1927, on the proposal of the Whangaroa County Council to borrow a sum of five thousand pounds (£5,000) for the construction of a wharf at Whangaroa (£4,000) and the construction of a wharf at Totara North (£1,000).
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 97; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 16.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of a special area in the Outram Town District, taken on the 16th day of March, 1927, on the proposal of the Outram Town Board to borrow the sum of fifteen hundred pounds for the purpose of completing a new water-supply for the special area—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 49; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
