NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.
Loan of £8,400.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it enabling, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £8,400 authorized to be raised by the said Council by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 21st day of December, 1926, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of—
(a) The purchase from the Napier Harbour Board of an area of 6 acres 3 roods 19·6 perches, more or less, adjacent to Hyderabad and Taradale Roads:
(b) The filling up and reclaiming and levelling the said area;
(c) Laying out, making, forming, and metalling roads through or along the said area, and constructing covered drains through or along the same:
(d) Construction of a further portion of a stormwater outfall culvert from a point near the eastern side of the said area:
(e) Purchase of plant for the above works:
And the cost of raising the loan, interest, and sinking fund for the first year and contingencies;
the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-seven four-hundredths (37/400ths) of a penny in the pound (£1) upon all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years or until the loan is fully paid off.
Loan of £5,000.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it enabling, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the said Council by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 21st day of December, 1926, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of—
The erection of a grandstand in McLean Park, with rooms and conveniences for sports purposes:
And the cost of raising the loan, interest, and sinking fund for the first year and contingencies;
the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-two four-hundredths (22/400ths) of a penny in the (£1) upon all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Loan of £5,240.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it enabling, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £5,240, authorized to be raised by the said Council by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 21st day of December, 1926, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of—
(a) Reconstruction of portion of Hastings Street, including raising of tram-rails and resurfacing of roadway with bituminous concrete:
(b) Relaying water-main in the above portion of Hastings Street:
(c) Paving with concrete slabs footpath in portion of Hastings Street:
And the cost of raising the loan, interest, and sinking fund for the first year and contingencies;
the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-three four-hundredths (23/400ths) of a penny in the pound (£1) upon all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Loan of £7,540.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it enabling, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £7,540 authorized to be raised by the said Council by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 21st day of December, 1926, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of—
(a) The extension of Thackeray Street; the widening of a portion of Hyderabad Road; the widening of a portion of Carlyle Street, the purchase of land and the purchase and exchange of land for and in connection with the said road extension and road widening:
(b) The construction of a further portion of a stormwater outfall culvert for a distance of 3½ chains from Georges Drive:
And the cost of raising the loan, interest, and sinking fund for the first year and contingencies;
the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of thirty-three four-hundredths (33/400ths) of a penny in the pound (£1) upon all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held on Tuesday, the 15th February, 1927, the following special resolutions were passed:
- That the company be wound up voluntarily.
- That JOHN A. BUSH, of Marton, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.
Further, that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders held on Wednesday, 2nd March, 1927, the above special resolutions were duly confirmed.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Duplex Fire Alarm Company, Limited, the registered legal owner of the above-mentioned Letters Patent, and GEOFFREY PORTER, the actual inventor of the invention in respect of which the said Letters Patent were granted, have, by originating summons dated the 8th day of October, 1926, applied that the term of the said Letters Patent may be extended; and notice is hereby given that the Court has fixed Friday, the 8th day of April, 1927, as the day before which the said summons shall not come on for hearing, and notice is hereby given that any person desirous of being heard in opposition to the said originating summons must, at least seven days before the said 8th day of April, 1927, lodge notice of such opposition in the office of the Supreme Court at Wellington, and serve a copy thereof upon Park and Hemery, Solicitors, for the plaintiffs; and notice is hereby given that the address of the said Park and Hemery is the address for service on the plaintiffs of any documents requiring service upon them in accordance with Rule 4 of the Rules of the Supreme Court under the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921-22.
