to complete the works.)

The said Council hereby appropriates the special rate of
three-fifths (3/5ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on
the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all
rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Rotorua
made and levied by resolution passed on 24th day of June,
1924, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette, 1924, at page
1755, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the lst day of April in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six (36) years,
or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £6,500.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of
all other powers (if any) thereunto enabling it, the Rotorua
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Rotorua
Borough Street and Other Improvements Loan (1927), of
£6,500, authorized by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 23rd
day of June, 1926, for the following purposes—

(a) The sum of £600 for the purchase of a stone-crushing
plant:

(b) The sum of £700 for the purchase of a weighbridge:

(c) The sum of £300 for the proportion of the cost of
new bridge over the Utahina Stream:

(d) The sum of £1,900, additional amount for footpath
improvements:

(e) The sum of £2,000 for top dressing with impervious
materials portions of Arawa, Hinemoa, Hinemaru,
Pukuatua, Amohau, Ranolf Streets, and Main
Tauranga Road:

(f) £500, unallotted:

The said Council hereby appropriates the special rate of
one-tenth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable
value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable pro-
perty in the whole of the Borough of Rotorua, and that such
special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the
lst day of February and August in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-
one (21) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAIARAPA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the
Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized to be raised by the
Wairarapa Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned
Act, for the purpose of providing additional funds for works,
buildings, land, and equipment necessary in connection with
the generation, distribution, and utilization of electric energy
within the Wairarapa Electric-power District, the said
Wairarapa Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a
special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny in the (£1) pound
upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Pirinoa-
Tuhi tarata Special-rating Area, comprising all that land
situated in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line
commencing at a point on the south-eastern bank of the
Ruamahanga River at the northern corner of Section 18,
Block XVI, Wairarapa Survey District, and following in a
south-easterly direction generally the north-eastern boundary
of the said Section 18 and of Section 19, Block XV, Wairarapa
Survey District, to the eastern corner of the last-named
section; thence following in a south-westerly direction the
south-easterly boundary of the last-named Section 19 to the
northern corner of Section 42, Block III, Haurangi Survey
District; thence following the north-eastern boundary of the
said Section 42 to where it intersects the south-western bound-
ary of the block of land contained under Land Transfer Title
B/237, and thence following in a south-easterly direction
generally the south-western boundary of this last-described
block of land to where it meets the north-western boundary
of Section 6, Block IV, Haurangi Survey District; thence
following in a south-westerly direction generally the north-
western boundary of the said Section 6 and the northern
boundary of Block VII, Haurangi Survey District, to where
the latter meets the south-eastern boundary of Section 92,

Block III, Haurangi Survey District; thence following in a
south-westerly direction this boundary of the said Section 92
to where it meets the eastern boundary of the block of land
described under Land Transfer Title B/286; thence following
this boundary in a northerly direction to its north-east corner;
thence following in a westerly direction its northern boundary
in a southerly direction its western boundary and in an
easterly direction its southern boundary to its south-east
corner, which is on the boundary of the Wairarapa Electric-
power District; thence following in a southerly direction
generally the boundary of the Wairarapa Electric-power
District to the Tauanui River; thence following in a northerly
direction the Tauanui River to a point opposite the south-
east corner of Section II, Block V, Haurangi Survey District;
thence crossing the river by a right line to this corner of the
said Section II, and following in a westerly direction generally
the northern boundary of Section 52 to the north-west corner
of Section 10, Block V, Haurangi Survey District, and from
this point following the northern boundary of Section 85,
Block V, Haurangi Survey District, to the Ruamahanga
River; thence following this river in a northerly direction
to the south-west corner of Section 6, Block I, Haurangi
Survey District; thence following the southern boundary
of the said Section 6 to its south-east corner, and then follow-
ing the south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 6 and of
Section 3, 4, and 2, Block I, Haurangi Survey District, to the
Ruamahanga River; thence following this river in a north-
easterly direction generally to the starting-point: and that
such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the
currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the lst day
of October in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is
fully paid off.

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

Loan of £7,250.

IN pursuance of and in exercise of the powers vested in
it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926,
and of all other powers it thereunto enabling, the Masterton
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Masterton
Borough Gasworks Renewal Loan No. 1, 1927, of £7,250,
authorized to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing
funds for the repayment of moneys outstanding in respect of
the Masterton Borough Gasworks Loans Repayment Loan,
1917, of £9,000, the said Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny in the pound
sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved
value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Masterton
(South Ward), and the said special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable half-yearly on the lst day of February and the
lst day of August in each year during the currency of the
loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is
fully repaid.

Loan of £4,500.

In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Masterton
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Masterton
Borough Gasworks Renewal Loan No. 2, 1926, of £4,500,
authorized to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing
funds for the repayment of moneys outstanding in respect
of the Masterton Borough Gasworks Loans Repayment Loan,
1908, of £12,000 the said Council hereby makes and levies a
special rate of twenty-four sixty-fourths of one penny in the
pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of
Masterton, and the said special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable half-yearly on the lst day of April and the 30th day
of September in each and every year during the currency of
such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan
is fully paid off.
