to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Factories Act, 1921–22, an Inspector for the purposes of the Weights and Measures Act, 1908, and an Inspector for the purposes of the Scaffolding and Excavation Act, 1922, as from the 1st day of February, 1926.
James Torrance, Esq.,
to be Receiver of Land Revenue, for the Marlborough Land District, for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, as from the 6th day of February, 1926.

COMMANDS.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. B. Charters, C.M.G., D.S.O. (North Auckland Regiment) relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion. Dated 31st December, 1925.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. B. Charters, C.M.G., D.S.O., is confirmed in his appointment as Commander, 1st N.Z. Infantry Brigade, and granted the rank of Colonel. Dated 1st June, 1925.
2ND N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S WELLINGTON WEST COAST).
Major W. R. Foley, M.C., to be Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 19th August, 1925.

Harold McCarter Taylor to be 2nd Lieutenant, 12th Field Battery. Dated 19th August, 1925.

2nd Lieutenant J. H. Adam to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion. Dated 18th August, 1925.

Eric Macrae Clark to be 2nd Lieutenant, 6th C. Battalion. Dated 1st February, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant G. A. Rix-rott is transferred from the 1st C. Battalion to the 1st Battalion with seniority as from 6th January, 1925.

N.Z. DENTAL CORPS.
Lieutenant-Colonel T. A. Hunter, C.B.E., temporarily relinquishes the appointment of Director of Dental Services, and is granted one year’s leave of absence as from the 2nd February, 1926, with permission to be absent from the Dominion. Captain R. D. Elliott, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain, and is appointed Director of Dental Services temporarily, and granted the temporary rank of Major while so employed. Dated 2nd February, 1926.
NEW ZEALAND CHAPLAIN’S DEPARTMENT.
The undermentioned Chaplains 4th Class to be Chaplains 3rd Class :—

Major H. H. Cheeseman, M.R.C.S., Eng., is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 8th January, 1926.
Captain C. E. R. Bucknill is posted to the Retired List with the rank of Major, under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 26th January, 1926.
Captain W. P. Gowlan, F.R.C.S., Eng., is retired. Dated 26th January, 1926.
