WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL RESOLUTION MADE ON THE 10TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1926.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £160 (being 10 per cent. of an original loan of £1,660) authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reforming, culverting, and metalling about 10 miles of the Ahoroa Road, the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Pakaumanu Special-rating Area as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 14th December, 1916, page 3025, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000 authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of reforming, widening, culverting, and metalling portion of the Kohua Road, the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of threepence (3d.) in the pound upon the unimproved rateable value of all rateable property of the Kohua No. 2 Special-rating Area, comprising : Part Section 1, Block XI (186 acres 2 roods 35 perches); Sections 2, 5, 20, Block XI; Section 3, Block VIII; Sections 4, 5, 8, Block VII; Rangitoto-Tuhua 61G 2, 6lo, 2Bla, 2Blb, 2B1c, 2B2, Blocks VII, VIII, XII; Rangitoto-Tuhua 6lo, 2B3A, 2B3Bl, and 6lo, 2B3B2, Block VIII; all in the Totoro Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during a period equal to the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Wanganui City Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £10,000 authorized to be raised by the Wanganui City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the following purposes—namely, the constructing, erecting, finishing, extending, and enlarging the present waterworks, as defined by section 238 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, of the Borough of Wanganui for the supply of water for the use of the inhabitants of the borough; and, in particular, the constructing, erecting, and finishing of the following works in connection with such waterworks (as above defined)—that is to say: Raising the Okehu Dam; duplicating the mid-section of pipe-line; completing the Westmere Reservoir; erecting a water-tower on Bastia Hill (with pumping-station and connecting-mains), the making of additions to, replacing, and supplying mains and pipes; the supplying of hydrants; the duplicating

of the main between Virginia Lake and London Street; the purchasing or acquiring of lands, easements, or ways in connection with such construction and enlargement; and for all and every purchase incidental to, connected with, or relating to, all or any of the purposes aforesaid—the Wanganui City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-tenth (1/10th) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the City of Wanganui, the boundaries whereof are defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 12th day of August, 1926, Number 53, at pages 2500 and 2501; and that such rate shall be a annually recurring special rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 15th day of April and the 15th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, until the loan is fully paid off.

DEVONPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Devonport Borough Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, the establishment and formation of a recreation reserve, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Council, situate at Marine Square, Devonport, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land must state their objections in writing, and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk of the said Council at the said office.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of parcel of land required to be taken: 1 rood 3 3 perches. Being Lot 1 on D.P. 3604, being part Lot 5 of Allotment 10 of Section 2, Parish of Takapuna. Situated in the Borough of Devonport. Coloured on plan yellow.

GREY COUNTY COUNCIL.

Under the Public Works Act, 1908, and in the matter of the taking under the said Act by the Grey County Council of certain lands for the purposes of a road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed by the Grey County Council, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block VII, Mawheranui Survey District, and for the purpose of such work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the Grey County Council, Gresson Street, Greymouth, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Grey County Council at its said office at Greymouth.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of the parcel of land required to be taken: 2 roods 30 perches. Being portion of Section 1 (R. 1329). Situate in Block VII, Survey District of Mawheranui. Shown on plan marked "A." Coloured on plan, pink. Registration District of Westland. Situate in the County of Grey. In the Westland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Grey County Council, Gresson Street, Greymouth, in the Westland Provincial District.
