A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section twelve of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as closed the portion of road in Benger Survey District described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 4 acres 2 roods 29 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Crown land in Block III, Benger Survey District. (Otago R.D.).

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 67216, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 11th day of December, 1926.

Appointment of Warden under the Mining Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this 6th day of December, 1926.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. DOWNIE STEWART PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, appoint fit persons to be Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor-Generalโ€™s pleasure.

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said section nine of the Mining Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Frederick William Platts, Esquire,

to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act during pleasure on and from the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six.

Altering the Boundaries of the Galloway Irrigation District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of December, 1926.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. DOWNIE STEWART PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1910, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby alter the Galloway Irrigation District, as defined in the Second Schedule to the Order in Council dated the fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 30, page 1082, of the eighth day of the same month, authorizing the Minister of Public Works to construct and maintain water-supply works in the Galloway Irrigation District, by substituting the Schedule hereto for the Second Schedule to the aforesaid Order in Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at the point of junction of the Manorburn Stream and the Manuherikia River in Block 9, Leaning Rock Survey District, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the left bank of the Manuherikia River to the northernmost point of Run 2201, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction generally adjoining and passing through Run 2201, and passing through Run 220G to a point on Dip Creek; thence in a westerly direction along Dip Creek to a point on the northern boundary of Section 61, Block 6, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence in an easterly direction generally along the northern boundaries of part Section 61, Block 6, and Sections 1 and 10, Block 19, Tiger Hill Survey District, to a point on the Bonanza Water-race; thence in a south-westerly direction generally along the said Bonanza Water-race to the southernmost corner of Section 3, Block 19, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence in a north-westerly direction generally along the south-western boundaries of Sections 3 and 2, Block 19, and the south-western and western boundaries of Section 62, Block 6, Tiger Hill Survey District, to a county road; thence in a westerly direction generally along the said county road to the south-western corner of the said Section 61; thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of the said Section 61 to a point on Dip Creek; thence in a south-westerly direction along *Dip Creek to its point of junction with the constructed Government race in Section 60, Block 6, Tiger Hill Survey District; thence along the constructed Government race, through Section 55, Block 6, Run 565, Tiger Hill Survey District, Section 106, Section 105, and again Section 106, Block 8, part Section 97, Block 9, Leaning Rock Survey District, and again Run 565, Tiger Hill Survey District, to a point on the Manorburn Stream; thence in a westerly direction generally along the Manorburn Stream to the point of commencement. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 67245, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged red.

Additional Regulations relating to Maori Land Boards.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 6th day of December, 1926.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE W. DOWNIE STEWART PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by the Native Land Act, 1909, and its amendments, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, make regulations for the purposes specified in the said Act:

Now, therefore, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act and its amendments, and all other powers him thereunto enabling, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following additional regulations relating to Maori Land Boards.

REGULATIONS.

FUNDS OF BOARDS.

  1. With the direction in writing of the President, which may be revoked at any time, money in the account of a Maori Land Board referred to in section 35 of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, may be paid out of such account by cheque, signed by the Registrar and countersigned by the Accountant to the Board. The powers hereby conferred shall extend to the persons carrying on for the time being the duties of the Registrar and of the Accountant respectively.

  2. (1.) A Maori Land Board may invest any money in its hands in the manner following, subject, however, to obtaining the consent or approval of the Native Minister in such cases as the statute requires it, namely:โ€”

(a.) In stocks, funds, or other securities of the Government of the Dominion of New Zealand.

(b.) In bonds, debentures, or other securities of any local authority or statutory Board having authority to borrow money.
