WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and its amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 21st day of June, 1926, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, in terms of section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Waitemata County Council doth hereby, by special order, resolve to borrow the sum of £5,100 for the purpose of providing the Waitemata County Council’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge over the Wairau Estuary at the Inga Road site, for a period of 36½ years at a rate of interest not exceeding 5½ per centum per annum, together with a sinking fund of at least 1 per centum per annum, and declares that the cost of the raising of the loan, but not the first year’s interest on the said loan shall be payable out of the moneys so raised. And that for the purpose of providing interest and sinking fund and other charges on the said loan of £5,100 the Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Takapuna Riding of the County of Waitemata, and

that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of June and the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAIMAKARIKI RIVER TRUST.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Waimakariri River Improvement Act, 1922, the River Boards Act, 1908, the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waimakariri River Trust proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the improvement and widening of the drain forming the course or outlet of the River Cust, the removal and erection of stop-banks, and the construction of a drain and river-conservation works generally; and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Waimakariri River Trust, situate at Commerce Hall, corner of Worcester Street and Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, and is open for inspection without fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by or having any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or the taking of the said land are required to state forthwith in writing such objections and forward such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Waimakariri River Trust at its public office situate as aforesaid.

THE SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land situate in the Waimakariri River Trust District, being part of Rural Section 7407 and part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 380, folio 143, recorded in the office of the District Lands Registrar at Christchurch, and situate in Blocks IX and X, Rangiora Survey District, in the County of Rangiora, and containing by admeasurement one acre and three decimal eight perches (1 acre 0 roods 3·8 perches). As the same is more particularly delineated on the said plan and therein colored pink.
