WAIROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairoa County Kiwi Branch Road Loan of £350, 1926, authorized to be raised by the Wairoa County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of metalling about 60 chains of the Kiwi Branch Road, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth (⅙th) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Turiroa Special-rating District, being more particularly described in the Schedule at the foot hereof; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at the south-east corner of Lot 4, Blocks VIII and XII, Waihua Survey District, at the junction of the eastern boundary of Lot 4 with the sea; westwards along the sea to the western boundary of Lot 4; thence in a general northerly direction along the western boundary of Lot 4 to its junction with the western boundary of Lot 3; thence along the western and northern boundaries of Lot 3 and the north-western and northern boundaries of Turiroa Agricultural Section 7 to its junction with the road; thence in a general south-easterly direction along the road to its intersection with the eastern boundary of the said Agricultural Section 7; thence southwards along the eastern boundary of the said Agricultural Section 7 to its south-east corner; thence westwards eight (8) chains along the southern boundary of the said Agricultural Section 7; thence due south to the southern boundary of Turiroa Agricultural Section 8; thence westwards along the southern boundary of Turiroa Agricultural Section 8 to its intersection with the road; thence in a generally southerly direction along the road and the eastern boundary of Lot 2, Block VIII, Waihua Survey District, to the south-eastern corner of the said Lot 2; thence westwards along the southern boundary of the said Lot 2 to its intersection with the eastern boundary of Lot 4, Block VIII, Waihua Survey District; thence in a general southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Lot 4 to its junction with the sea, being the point of commencement and comprising Lots 2 and 4 D.P. 3807 Kiwi Estate, Lot 3 D.P. 3809 Kiwi Estate, Part Section 7, Block V, Waihua Survey District (95 acres 0 roods 31·1 perches), part Section 8, Block VIII, Waihua Survey District (70 acres), and Lot 1 (D.P. 644) Turiroa Agricultural Section part 7, and closed road, Block V, Waihua Survey District (3 acres 2 roods 30 perches).

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairoa County Tangiwai Special-rating District Loan of £2,500, 1926, authorized to be raised by the Wairoa County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming and bridging about 2 miles 38 chains of the Makaretu-Mangaone Road, the said Wairoa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence (2d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (no the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Tangiwai Special-rating District, being more particularly described in the Schedule at the foot hereof; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

SCHEDULE.

Commencing at Tangaruawahine, being the north-eastern corner of Mangapoike No. 3 Block, Block XV, Opoiti Survey District, thence eastwards along the northern boundary of Mangapoike No. 3 Block, a distance of about one hundred and fourteen chains to its junction with a paddock fence; thence in a general southerly direction along the said paddock fence to its junction with the Makaretu Stream; thence westwards along the Makaretu Stream to its intersection by the eastern boundary of Tutuotekaha No. 1b 1 Block, Block XIII, Opoiti Survey District; thence southwards along the eastern boundary ot the south-eastern corner of the said Tutuotekaha 1b 1 Block, Puketapu; thence following a general westerly direction along the southern boundaries of Tutuotekaha Blocks Nos. 1b 1, 1b 2, 1b 3, 1b 4, 1b 5, 1b 6, and 1b 7 to the south-western corner of Tutuotekaha 1b 7 Block; thence northwards along the western boundary of Tutuotekaha 1b 7 Block to its junction with the southern boundary of Tutuotekaha No. 2d 2 Block; thence in a general westerly and northerly direction along the southern and western boundaries of Tutuotekaha No. 2d 2 Block and the western boundary of Tutuotekaha No. 2d 1 Block to its junction with the Makaretu Stream; thence in a general westerly direction along the Makaretu Stream to its junction with the western boundary of Mangapoike No. 1a Block; thence along the western, northern, and eastern boundaries of the Mangapoike No. 1a Block to Tangaruawahine, the point of commencement: and comprising Mangapoike No. 1a Block, part Mangapoike No. 3 Block (1,348 acres), Tutuotekaha Nos. 2d 1 and 2d 2 Blocks, part Tutuotekaha No. 1b 3 Block (289 acres 1 rood 20 perches), part Tutuotekaha No. 1b 3 Block (10 acres), and Tutuotekaha Nos. 1b 1, 1b 2, 1b 4, 1b 5, 1b 6, and 1b 7 Blocks.

RESOLUTION INCREASING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairoa County Tangiwai Special-rating District Loan of £2,500, 1926, authorized to be raised by the Wairoa County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of forming and bridging about 2 miles 38 chains of the Makaretu-Mangaone Road, the said Council, pursuant to section 22 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby increases to twopence (2d.) and one-fifth (1/5th) of a penny in the pound sterling the special rate of twopence (2d.) in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 12th day of October, 1926, on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Tangiwai Special-rating District in the County of Wairoa, such rate of twopence (2d.) in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan; and that such special rate as increased shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

KAITIEKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION STRIKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Kaitieke County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a special loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500), authorized to be raised by the Kaitieke County Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purposes of widening, culverting, metalling, and improving portions of the Retaruke Valley Road, the Kouturoa Road, the Maungaroa Road, and the Mangaorakei Road, the Kaitieke County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-third of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Lower Retaruke Special-rating Area, being the rateable property within the following boundaries: Commencing at a point on the Wanganui River, being the intersection of the southern corner of the south-western end of the Retaruke Valley Road with the said
