Constable William McLennan

to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Kaikoura, on and from the 4th day of October, 1926, vice Constable G. F. Hodgson, transferred; and

Constable Herbert James Olsen

to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Port Awanui on and from the 28th day of September, 1926, vice Constable M. Campbell, transferred.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces :

COMMANDS.

Colonel S. S. Allen, C.M.G., D.S.O., the Hauraki Regiment, is appointed to command the Regiment temporarily. Dated 29th September, 1926.

Major R. Milligan, D.S.O., the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, and is appointed to command the Coast Artillery Group, Northern Command. Dated 23rd September, 1926.

2ND N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S WELLINGTON WEST COAST).

Captain T. L. Gibbs (Retired List) to be Captain. Dated 11th October, 1926.

5TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (OTAGO HUSSARS).

2nd Lieutenant L. W. Neill to be Lieutenant. Dated 1st October, 1926.

8TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NELSON).

Major K. B. Tennent, M.M., is transferred to the 9th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (North Auckland). Dated 11th October, 1926.

Lieutenant W. G. F. Pinkham, D.C.M., M.M., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 9. Dated 2nd October, 1926.

9TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NORTH AUCKLAND).

Major K. B. Tennent, M.M., from the 8th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (Nelson) to be Major, with seniority as from the 18th December, 1925.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Captain D. M. Eckhoff (5th Field Battery) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b) R.D. 5. Dated 7th October, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant P. B. Levy (12th Field Battery) is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 27th September, 1926.

THE N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Hauraki Regiment.

Colonel S. S. Allen, C.M.G., D.S.O., from the Reserve of Officers, to be Colonel. Dated 29th September, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant J. M. Allen (1st Battalion) to be Lieutenant. Dated 29th September, 1926.

The Wellington Regiment.

Lieutenant L. W. F. Crane ceases to be seconded to the 2nd C. Battalion, and is seconded to the 4th C. Battalion with his original seniority. Dated 7th October, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant P. B. Levy, from the Regiment of N.Z. Artillery, to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded for service with the 2nd C. Battalion. Dated 27th September, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant L. L. J. Du Flou (1st Battalion) is posted to the Retired List under the provisions of G.O. 184/21, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 4th October, 1926.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant D. T. Kelly, from the Canterbury Regiment to be 2nd Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 5th June, 1925.

The Taranaki Regiment.

Lieutenant T. W. McCaw, M.M., from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, 1st Battalion, with seniority as from the 24th April, 1924.

2nd Lieutenant J. E. Mays (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 8. Dated 29th September, 1926.

The Canterbury Regiment.

Lieutenant C. E. H. Naylor (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 10. Dated 28th September, 1926.

2nd Lieutenant D. T. Kelly (2nd C. Battalion) is transferred to the Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated 16th September, 1926.

Arthur Cecil Hipwell to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is seconded to the 4th C. Battalion. Dated 27th September, 1926.
