SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.
Wallace County.—Wairaki Survey District.—Beaumont Settlement.
SECTIONS 1 and 11, Block XXIII: Area, 818 acres 1 rood 2 perches; capital value, £1,255; half-yearly rent, £31 7s. 6d. Weighted with £640, valuation for dwelling, outbuildings, and stable.
Situated about nine miles from Nightcaps by good gravelled road, and about 140 chains from school. About 150 acres light river flat, balance tussock country, suitable for sheep-grazing.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 14th day of October, 1926.

Opening Lands in the Nelson Land District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:—
The rural lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto are hereby set apart for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the seventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at the rentals specified in the said Schedule, and shall be deemed to be heavy-bush lands.
After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for periods of three years and four years in the Schedules hereunder shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board thinks fit.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Murchison County.—Lewis Survey District.
(Exempt from Rent for Three Years.)
SECTION 1, Block VII: Area, 213 acres 3 roods 20 perches; capital value, £50; half-yearly rent, £1.
Situated in Maruia Valley, about thirty-one miles from Reefton and three miles from Springs Junction Post-office by dray-road to within one mile and a quarter, thence bridle-track. Section is all flat land, mostly swampy, but capable of being drained. Soil of fair quality. Altitude, 1,500 ft. above sea-level.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waimea County.—Tadmor Survey District.—National Endowment.
(Exempt from Rent for Four Years.)
Sections 7 and 8, Block XV: Area, 266 acres; capital value, £100; half-yearly rent, £2.
Weighted with £12, valuation for improvements, consisting of half-share of 24 chains of boundary-fence, payable in cash.
Situated fronting the Main Nelson-West Coast Road at the foot of the Hope Saddle. Access from Kohatu Railway-station by fourteen miles of good metalled road, seven miles from Korere School and post-office. About 166 acres of open fern country with a little grazing, balance bush. Soil of a poor clay rubble. Well watered. Altitude, 1,000 ft. to 1,800 ft. above sea-level.
Inangahua County.—Maimai Survey District.
Section 4, Block XII: Area, 692 acres; capital value, £275; half-yearly rent, £5 10s.
Weighted with £40, valuation for improvements (consisting of 80 acres of felling and grassing and 30 chains of fencing), payable in cash.
Situated in the upper valley of the Mawheraiti or Little Grey River, five miles from Maimai Railway-station and eight and a quarter miles from post-office and school. Access by four and a half miles formed road and half-mile unformed. About 80 acres of flat land felled and grassed, remainder of section easy bush-clad country. Soil fair on flat, fair to poor on remainder. Altitude, 650 ft. to 1,400 ft. above sea-level.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by section two hundred and eighty-eight of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, and section sixteen of the Justices of the Peace Amendment Act, 1923, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that

being a person holding the office of Inspecting Engineer, General Post Office, Wellington, is authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
