Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 27th day of January, 1926.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.

Hawke’s Bay Electric-power Board (for electric works) ... £200,000
Awatere County Council (for dealing with flood damage caused at Woodman’s Bend) ... 6,000
Eyre County Council (for completion of workers’ dwellings) ... 190

Member appointed to Ratanui Memorial Public Hall Board.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in the Gazette of the second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, the control of Section 29, Block III, Woodland Survey District, in the Otago Land District, a reserve for a site for a public hall, was vested in certain persons therein named, who were by the said Order in Council constituted a special Board, by the name of the Ratanui Memorial Public Hall Board, in pursuance of section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914:

And whereas it is desirable that William Elmslie Craigie, of Ratanui, should be appointed a member of the said Board, in place of George Andrew Hutton, who has resigned:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914, doth hereby appoint the said

William Elmslie Craigie

to be a member of the Ratanui Memorial Public Hall Board constituted by the Order in Council dated the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, hereinbefore referred to, in place of the said George Andrew Hutton, who has resigned.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Paihia Domain.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

William Bedggood,
Richard Augustus Hall,
Thomas Samuel Joyce,
Henry Samuel Ludbrook,
John Owens,
The Hon. Vernon Herbert Reed, M.L.C.
Kenneth Stuart Williams, M.P., and
The Rev. Percy Temple Williams

to be the Paihia Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Monday, the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time when, and the residence of the Hon. V. H. Reed as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
Paihia Domain.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing 16 acres 2 roods 11·6 perches, more or less, being the area marked “Recreation reserve” on Land Transfer plan 15984.
Also all that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing 6 acres 2 roods 20·6 perches, more or less, being Lot 1, on Land Transfer plan 11101.
As the same are delineated on the plans marked L. and S. 1/688 A and B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Regulations under Fruit Export Control Act, 1924, amended.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 27th day of January, 1926.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE J. G. COATES, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated and gazetted on the twenty-third day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, regulations were made prescribing the maximum fees and the rate of travelling-allowances payable to members of the New Zealand Fruit Control Board whilst engaged upon business of the Board in the Dominion:
And whereas it is considered desirable to make similar provision in respect of the fees and allowances payable to members of the Board whilst engaged upon business of the Board outside the Dominion:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Fruit Export Control Act, 1924, doth hereby make the following regulations.

REGULATIONS.

  1. THE maximum fee payable to any member of the Board whilst engaged beyond the Dominion upon the business of the Board shall be a daily fee at the rate of £1,000 per annum.
  2. The maximum rate of travelling-allowance payable to any member of the Board whilst engaged beyond the Dominion on the business of the Board shall be £1 1s. per diem plus actual locomotion expenses.
