Details.—The present light-vessel will be withdrawn and replaced by a new light-vessel with the following characteristics :—

(a.) Light : Description.—A flashing white light every fifteen seconds, at an elevation of about 20 ft. (6ml).

(b.) Fog-signal : Description.—A diaphone giving four blasts of one and a quarter seconds' duration each, every forty-five seconds.

(c.) Vessel : Description.—Red hull and with the name “BARROW DEEP” on sides, no day mark, but with the lantern fitted permanently at the masthead.

(2.) Alteration in light of Mid-Barrow light-vessel :— Position.—Lat. 51° 35' N., long. 1° 10' E. (approx.). Details.—The light of the Mid-Barrow light-vessel will be altered from flashing white every fifteen seconds to alternating flashing red and white every thirty seconds.

AUSTRALIA, EAST COAST.—QUEENSLAND.

Wrong data relative to 'Ebb Stream.

1. Position.—Latitude 23° 30' south, longitude 151° 16' east.

Remarks.—The tidal information shown on the chart in the above position should read “Low water,” and not “High water” as charted.

Port Curtis, East Bank.—Incorrect Legend.

2. Position.—Latitude 23° 55' south, longitude 151° 26' east.

Establishment of New Light postponed.

With reference to notice No. 18 of 1926, mariners and others are hereby notified that the establishment of a white flashing light (U) on Sandy Cay is postponed until further notice.

UNITED STATES, PACIFIC COAST.—CALIFORNIA.

Vincente Point.—Light established, Light-and-whistle-buoy withdrawn.

(1.) Light established :

Position.—On Vincente Point. Lat. 33° 44′ 31″ N., long. 118° 24′ 37″ W., on chart No. 899.

Abridged Description.—Gp. Fl. (2) ev. 20 sec., 185 ft.

Characteristics :

Character.—Group-flashing showing two flashes every twenty seconds, thus : Flash 0·3 sec., eclipse 4·7 sec.; flash 0·3 sec., eclipse 14·7 sec.

Elevation. — 185 ft. (56m4). Visibility.—Not stated. Power.—800,000 candles.

Structure.—White cylindrical tower, 55 ft. (16m8) in height.

(2.) Light-and-whistle-buoy withdrawn :

Position.—About half a mile south-westward of Vincente Point.

Description.—Light-and-whistle-buoy No. 4, painted red, with a flashing white light.

ENGLAND, SOUTH COAST.

Royal Sovereign Light-vessel.—To be replaced by New Light-vessel.

Date of Replacement.—On or about 1st September, 1926.

Position.—Lat. 50° 43' N., long. 0° 27' E. (approx.).

Details.—The present light-vessel will be withdrawn and replaced by a new light-vessel having the following characteristics :—

(a.) Light :

Character.—Group-flashing white showing three flashes of half a second’s duration each, every fifteen seconds.

Elevation.--40 ft. (12m2).

(b.) Fog-signals :

Description :—

(i.) A diaphone, sounding two blasts of two and a quarter seconds’ duration each, every forty-five seconds.

(ii.) A submarine transmitter, giving three notes of one second’s duration each, every ten seconds.

(c.) Vessel :

Description.—The vessel will be fitted with one mast with lantern at the masthead; the hull will be painted red, with “ROYAL SOVEREIGN” on sides.

ARGENTINA.—STATEN ISLAND.

Crossley Bay, Le Maire.—Light established.

Position.—On islet at southern side of entrance to Crossley Bay. Lat. 54° 47' 48" S., long. 64° 43' 55" W., on chart No. 1332.

Abridged Description.—(U) Gp. Fl. (4) ev. 30 sec., 168 ft., 17 M.

Characteristics:

Character.—A group-flashing white light showing four flashes every thirty seconds, thus : Flash 0·4 sec., eclipse 3·6 sec.; flash 0·4 sec., eclipse 3·6 sec.; flash 0·4 sec., eclipse 17·6 sec.

Elevation.—168 ft. (51m2).

Visibility.—17 miles, from 044° through east to 221°.

Power.—2,700 candles.

Structure.—Red circular hut on piles, 11 ft. (3m4) in height.

Note.—The light is unwatched.

Remarks.—The name “Le Maire” is to be inserted on chart No. 1332, against this light.

WALES, WEST COAST.

Carnarvon Bay Light-vessel withdrawn.

Former Notice.—No. 382 of 1926 [PRELIMINARY] ; hereby cancelled.

Position.—Lat. 53° 06' N., long. 4° 49' W. (approx.).

Details.—“Carnarvon Bay” light-vessel has now been permanently withdrawn and is to be expunged from the charts together with the watch buoy.

Note.—The note “See Table of Tidal Streams” is to be inserted in the above position on chart No. 1411 and “Lat. 53° 05½' N., long. 4° 49' W.” substituted for “Carnarvon Bay Lt. Vessel” in the table of tidal streams.

On chart No. 1824A the notation “XIII [in circle]” is to be moved to the position hitherto occupied by this light-vessel and “Position XIII,” is to be substituted for “Carnarvon Bay Lt. Vessel” in the table of tidal streams.

BAY OF BENGAL.—BURMA, GULF OF MARTABAN.

Krishna and Baragua Light-vessel.—Alteration in Positions.

Former Notice.—No. 392 of 1926 [PRELIMINARY]; hereby cancelled.

(1.) Krishna light-vessel :

New Position.—At a distance of about 5½ miles southward of charted position. Lat. 15° 31' 00" N., long. 95° 38' 00" E. (approx.), on chart No. 823.

Description.—Unaltered.

(2.) Baragua light-vessel :

New Position.—At a distance of about 5 miles southward of charted position. Lat. 15° 22' 00" N., long. 95° 11' 00" E. (approx.), on chart No. 823.

Description.—Unaltered.

Remarks.—A watch buoy is moored about 2½ cables northward of each of the above light-vessels.

Note.—The notation “(P.A.)” is to be inserted on chart No. 823 against these two light-vessels; the abridged descriptions of the lights remain unchanged, but those of the fog-signals are to be altered to “Fog Sig.” in both cases.
