Dismissals from the Forces.

Department of Defence,
Wellington, 24th August, 1926.

His Excellency the Governor-General has approved of
the dismissal of the undermentioned soldiers of the
Territorial Force from the New Zealand Defence Forces,
under section 6 (b), Defence Act, 1909, they having been
convicted by the Civil power:

Private R. F. Amyes, Northern Depot, N.Z. Army Service
Corps. Dated 10th August, 1926.

Private A. G. Larsen, Northern Depot, N.Z. Medical Corps.
Dated 16th August, 1926.

Private A. Rae, Non-effective List, No. 1 Regimental
District. Dated 10th August, 1926.

Awards of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

Department of Defence,
Wellington, 26th August, 1926.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary
Forces Long-service Medal to the undermentioned:

Captain L. S. Cimino, Reserve of Officers.
Mr. H. Blair, late Lieutenant, the Southland Regiment.

Disestablishment of Technical School Board.

Education Department,
Wellington, 11th August, 1926.

In accordance with the provisions of the Education Act,
1914, and with the powers thereunder, I, Robert
Alexander Wright, Minister of Education, do hereby, on
the application of the Otago Education Board, direct that
from the 1st day of June, 1926, the immediate control of
the Balclutha Technical School shall pass from the Board of
Managers of such school to the Otago Education Board; and
that from the aforesaid 1st day of June such Board of Managers
shall be and shall be deemed to be dissolved, and that all its
property, rights, and liabilities shall thereupon vest in and
become the property, rights, and liabilities of the said Education Board.

Disestablishment of Technical School Boards.

Education Department,
Wellington, 11th August, 1926.

In accordance with the provisions of the Education Act,
1914, and with the powers thereunder, I, Robert
Alexander Wright, Minister of Education, do hereby, on the
application of the Canterbury Education Board, direct that
from the 1st day of September, 1926, the immediate control of
the technical schools named in the Schedule hereto shall
pass from the Boards of Managers of such schools to the
Canterbury Education Board; and that from the aforesaid
1st day of September such Boards of Managers shall be and
shall be deemed to be dissolved, and that all their property,
rights, and liabilities shall thereupon vest in and become the
property, rights, and liabilities of the said Education Board.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in Canterbury Land District forfeited.

Notice is hereby given that the lease of the under-
mentioned land having been declared forfeited by
resolution of the Canterbury Land Board, the said land has
thereby reverted to the Crown, under the provisions of the
Land Act, 1924, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act,
1915, and amendments.

Notice is hereby given that the lease of the under-
mentioned land having been declared forfeited by
resolution of the Taranaki Land Board, the said land has
thereby reverted to the Crown, under provisions of the Land
Act, 1924, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915,
and amendments.

Town Land in the Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Wellington, 1st September, 1926.

Notice is hereby given that the undermentioned land
will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash or
on deferred payments, at the District Lands and Survey
Office, Wellington, at 11 o'clock a.m., on Tuesday, 21st
September, 1926, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
City of Wellington.

Lots 1 and 2 of Section 3, Block IV, Thorndon Reclamation :
Area, 15·46 perches ; upset price, £10,000.

This property is situated in Featherston Street, in the City
of Wellington, between the Wellesley Club building and the
Dominion Farmers Institute building. It has a frontage of
49·57 ft. to Featherston Street.

Special Condition.—The area will be sold subject to a party-
wall agreement now existing between the Dominion Farmers
Institute (Limited) and the Crown, and intending purchasers
must make themselves familiar with the terms of the agree-
ment, which may be perused on application.

CONDITIONS OF SALE.

The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred
payments. The terms are :—

  1. Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of
    the hammer, and the balance, with Crown grant fee (£1),
    within thirty days thereafter.

  2. Deferred Payments.—Five per cent. of purchase-money,
    together with £1 1s. license fee, to be paid on the fall of
    the hammer.

The balance of the purchase-money, with interest thereon
at the rate of 5½ per cent. per annum, to be paid by instal-
ments extending over a period of 34½ years.

The licensee shall have the right at any time during
the currency of his license to pay off either the whole of the
purchase-money or any half-yearly instalment or instalments
thereof then remaining unpaid.

Upon receipt of the final instalment a certificate of title in
respect of the land purchased shall issue upon payment of the
prescribed Crown grant fee.

If the purchaser fails to make any of the prescribed pay-
ments by due date the amount (if any) already paid shall
be forfeited, and the contract for the sale be null and void.

Title will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.

Notice is hereby given, in terms of the Native Town-
ships Act, 1910, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act,
1908, that written tenders are invited and will be received
at the office of the Aotea District Maori Land Board, Wanganui,
up to 3 p.m. on Friday, 24th September, 1926, for the lease
of the undermentioned sections:—
